Default Rear View Mirror help!!

Well After fixing my LEDs last night I noticed one was not burning so I took everything back apart and looked at the bulb. While playing with it I couldnt get the bulb to burn finally I was trying to twist the mirror so I could see inside and POP.. I pushed and pulled too hard and the entire mirror came off at the "Nuckle" nearest to the windshield.

Does anyone know what I have to do.

Once the mirror was hanging loose I figured out that the bulb was the problem. The End cap on one of the ends is loose and its not getting a proper connection and eventually while I was just looking it over the cap fell off completely.

So I need a new LED and I need to fix my Mirror now

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yea... just don't smack it back on too hard.... I know a guy that crack his windshield doing that. I would detach the part with the ball from the windshield and press it back into the mirror. The remount the mirror.

How does that come apart? I don't wanna break anything. I also don't wanna have to apply some glue or anything onto the windshield after this is taken off either.

I've never removed mine from my bird.... but there is a metal plate that is glue onto the windshield that the mirror slides on to/off of. The plate stays on the windshield and there is nothing to glue on. (That is unless the plate comes off the windshield. I had the misfortune of that happening on another car long ago. I just came out to the car on a hot day and found the mirror and mounting plate in my front seat. Had to get a kit with glue and re-glue plate to windshield and remount the mirror a few days later.)

Maybe these post from another thread will help. Good luck.

Insert the screwdriver until you feel tension and move the screwdriver up at the same time, slowly move the mirror up kind of wiggling it and it should come right off. I did this to install my compass mirror on my car. This was on a 1995 Trans Am, but if you have a wedge mount mirror it would still apply. Good Luck!! It took me like ten seconds to get the mirror off. Just like 2K2WS6TA said if the tint guy can't tint around the mounting button you might want to get another tint guy!!

Thank you.. I got it off, and tried to re-attach it but no dice. I just purchased a new mirror from a fellow member here on LS1tech.

Its not hard at all. You just to splice to a constant +12, a switched +12, and put the temp sensor somewere.

Cajun: I have no clue what your talking about?
