a rollcage will b put in eventually but untill now the top has not sagged a bit. ive measured the car on the measuring machine at work (car-o-liner) and everything still sits where it did before any cutting. as for how the top is going to be held down. all that has to b done is to mount the tie downs off of some ttops. they will be adhered to the top using panel bond.

Yeah i think the front and rear of the opening look horrible. They make it look really cheaply done plus the strength is a huge factor. I would have done the cage or SFC BEFORE cutting the roof because now one good launch or anything will flex the center of the car.

Even if he's not going to drive it just think about it. If you cut all the support off the roof of a car you want to stabilize it before you cut. It doesn't take much to flex a unibody. I know its not finished but he said he just has to add some body filler and sand so thats pretty much how its going to look and to me it looks really cheaply done

I agree with you about the fact that it doesn't take much to flex a unibody. I would 've added SFCs before I hack up my car but according to OP everything is still okay because he measured it with something called "car-o-liner".
As far as finish goes, lets wait it out for better pics. Maybe it 'll look less gheto.

You guys are brutal. Work in progress can't be judged. Doesn't anyone here think forth dimensionally? ![Tongue](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_tongue.gif)
Props to the OP. Can't wait to hack mine once 6LE has them ready.

i really dont know if that little bar in the middle is going to do anything to help the structure. I mean its in the middle, think about it. If you have a force on side A, and a force on side B, and its causing rotational torque, then something in the middle would act as an aid almost as opposed to a stopping force. If our tops had a support beam on each corner of the windshield i think it would mater, i just don't see a little stamped piece of metal in the middle helping all that much. The corners of the windshield and b-pillar are still free to move, if the car wanted to flex it would simply twist that little piece. This is just the way it seems to me. Not saying thats what happens. You can bend that piece if you hit it with a hammer, so im sure an LS1 could bend it if it wanted. That being said i would never cut it without WELDED sub frames in LOL never can be too safe when it comes to your car, or investment if you will. Id hate to show up at the track with my car bent in the middle lmao.Im such a hypocrite
