No its has been repainted the original color was that gold color. I don't no why the seller would tell me that is was SOM and he was the one that had it painted. I didn't care wether the car was SOM or CR. So it is definitely CR then.

That sucks that someone would paint a rare colored car. Is it still gold under the hood and under carpet ?

what the gold is a rare color. yes it is still gold under hood and carpet. i couldnt beat the price. the guy spent over 12,000 on restore with receipts to back nearly every dollar and he only got 5k outta me. i am glad he got rid of the original color imo i hate the gold. lol

If he spent 12K trying to restore it then he should have painted it the original color

Granted rims are definitely just can't make up my mind yet. Between c6, c6 z06, and c5 thin spokes will be chrome. And of course will be from OEWheels. They r outta stock on the thin spokes kinda been my delay really wanted the thin spokes.

To be honest I probably wouldn't have bought it that's how much I hate the gold. Although as I said before I did get a good deal. The receipt for just the crate motor is almost as much as what I paid for the car.

How many are we talking about if I were to ever sell this car if it would make it worth more I would paint it back to factory color. Would it make it worth more plus more collectible.

at the point that its not the factory paint the rare stuff goes out the window. you'd be selling a car thats had two full repaints.

either way, CRM is much nicer than the sport gold. And what happened to the car is 12 years that it needed a $12K restoring? accident?

No accident the Guy was apparently OCD between the motor and tranny he had close to 10k. Everything else was AC, paint, interior, power steering, he even replace both t-tops and window switches. All sorts if stuff that didn't need replacing just he felt like it was time to replace it. He gave me all the spare parts that were still good. He originally gave it to his 17 year old son and he wanted it to be completely reliable. He told his son that if he disrepected it he would get rid of it. The back tires are Balder than the front so I think he caught him disrespecting it. Glad he did lol. His loss was seriously my gain. This car is truly a new 98 camaro dang near everything he replaced with new GM parts. The holy Grail of used cars so to speak lol. He kept everything. From the box the CD player came in to extra window motors. Guy had to be OCD.
