Default LED's and switchbacks...here's what mine look like........

Can't remember who asked for vids and pics......but here they are.

----Is this how they are supposed to work?----

I think mine are going on about 4 months and doing ok. I also let them blink for about 10 minutes each side when I first put them in to see if they would blow. They're doing great still. Took about 10 minutes to put them all in.

So:
Headlights off...they just blink amber.
Headlights on....they blink between amber and bright white.

And before anyone asks:
LED's are 48 SMT Tower. White-Amber (AW) $27.99 each. autolumination.com

Flashers...are EC 12 Flashers from Bennett Auto $11.00 each

During the day with no lights on they are amber
When I hit the signal they blink amber

At night they are white when headlights are on
when signalling they blink amber only.

Hey thanks LS6427 for the pics and vids! Now, let me ask you this, how do they light up with parking lights on and fogs WITHOUT headlights on?

Man, I have no idea how to do that. I just did this because I never wanted to have my lens crack because of the crazy heat thats always present with regular bulbs. Then water gets in and fries the socket out. These new lenses I bought are clear colored and sealed very well. Ebay.

Mine are always white with headlights on. Amber in the daytime with headlights off like stock.

autolumination.com may have an LED that operates opposite how mine do. Run white all the time, then only blink amber. If they do, just get the clear lenses like I have and you'll always run white.

amber......you'll see that in the very beginning of the video. They are amber anytime the headlights are 'off". Turning headlights on is what activates the white lights.

Talk to me, Goose. Everything I've heard so far says that we can't get a "Lights On, Blink Amber *Only*" to work.

I modded my running lights/flashers on my bird. When my headlights are off, there's NO lights on but they flash (white) with the turn signal. With the lights on, they are on white and blink off with the turn signal. I got sick of the bulbs burning out from staying on all the time if the car is on.

WTF? I have bought protectors, load equalizers, switched wires around. It still doesn't work the way it's supposed to. Did you just hook these up and they worked?

I dropped the drivers side kick panel....swapped the two stock flashers with the EC 12's.....then popped the LED's into the sockets.

That is all I did.............works like you see in the video.

You sir make me angry. J/K. I have an EL12 flasher, I wonder what the difference is? I wonder if the wiring on the 98' is different. Sometime when you get a chance can you look at the wires going to the socket and tell me what order they are in (If you are looking at the side that the bulb goes in).

Well....I replaced my factory sockets whe nthey got fried by water getting into them....with those $6.00 Autozone sockets. The wires are all the same color on the new sockets. There are 3 wires though just like stock.

I put in two EC 12 flashers. Not EL 12 flashers. Maybe thats the problem.
