Yes next year.

You are further along than me.

I see you have the exhaust in. I would love to see what your cat on the drivers side looks like. As you know we have the same header and cat back, and differential. Also what you did for the heat shields over the axle.

I switched the cats up and went with different make than the Kooks that is OBDII, they might be my secret weapon for HP and emissions. Might be, but they have had some really impressive result on a few cars in Canada.

Maybe I should start a thread too. It will be somewhat Milquetoast beside your build.

I'll try to get some pics...they had to cut a good portion of the header flange off to make the system fit right 1"- 2"? Not sure if the 2" LTs are longer or what, but the entire system was rearward quite a ways. Better fit now, but still not perfect....especially on that driver side

Heatshields are gone, but IMO, should come up with something to protect the fuel tank.

We'll talk. I did a couple things that may help you a little.

The cats I put on are 4 1/2", they eat up some space.

I bought some DEI stuff, but want to see what I can do with the heat shields.

My collector after cutting.

Looked through ever page of this thread. Awesome build.

What brand lines are you using (referring to the black braided ones)?
Referring to these...

I know.... The sail panel started to show signs of blistering and had to be painted. Remaining panels on the body are being color sanded. Saw it yesterday....looks pretty good.

Thanks....believe it not, that's just nylon braid over a 3/8 hose. Couple hose fittings, done. Had the braid for years cant remember where I got tho....intake kinda bit into "cool" hoses.

No I didn't....no time and didn't want to make a bigger mess, given the shops current work load. Yes, it'll probably have to be redone, but not this year.

The remaining panels... are they still wearing the factory paint? I would love to color sand mine, but I'm not sure how much clear is left. I can't wait to see the results! Great build man!

Thanks and yes. They were concerned too, so we're careful. Car is done and home now....couple little touch-ups via body shop "house call", polish, wax, should be good enough for convention center lighting.

After reading about 100 threads on various sites about wet sanding factory clear coats... be sure you are VERY careful about how you wash that thing after all of this. Most people say that there is probably very little clear left after doing this so any new imperfections in the finish are going to be very close to the base coat.

Post up some pics when you get a chance. There's nothing better than a well polished black car - especially when it's a sweet @$$ built SS like yours!

you'd puke if you saw my sail panel....i know i do every time i look at it. It was 100% mint and flawless when my 346 broke. After sitting in the shop forever it had time to think about how nice it was and decided to commit suicide. There's a VERY distinct line of bubble all the way around it now, some have even popped. As soon as i can afford a new panel and a paint job, the whole car is getting redone

Few more small but important pieces showed up this week.

Played around with wire length mock-ups thanks to the old wires and some 5/32 vac hose. Worked out nicely. Dropped them off at Magnecor at 8am.....3pm they were done!

Dipstick and MWC bmpr support showed up too. Support was a last minute decision that serves an obvious purpose, but has another....to be announced later

Getting the bumper over that support was a PITA! It is a very tight but nice fit and IMO makes the front end more sturdy than the foam one.

Make sure you measure that dipstick too for proper length! My buddy put one in and crank ate it right up lol.
