I'm a sucker for gadgets so I picked this up from Mark last night. So far, I'm really liking it. I hid it under my dash cover and ran the wires behind the lower dash panels to the port. It has a photometer so it auto-dims in low-light.

Here's video (the flashing is due to the frame rate of the iPhone camera):

And a couple photos:

Looks good Qcon. I need a carpeted mat like that, my dash is cracked up there, looks terrible.

using the carpet makes this look very fit in that location.

if my car was in a condition where accessories were in the works I'd pick up both of these things lol.

I look at the digital tach and the yellow shift light, and I think of this:

Well I got mine hooked up today and it is nice as long as your not driving into any direct sun light, I didn't use the tint yet because I think it really looks like **** but may have to. But in cloudy or night it shows up great. I'm going to mess with it some more today and see if I can come up with a new mounting location and get it closer to the windshield. I have it mounted in the corner and it really dosen't look to bad there. I'm going to try an "L" bracket off the "A" pillar today and see if that might work and get it close to the window. Anybody have any other thoughts on where and how?

The only way id really like it is if it were mounted below the surface of the dash. The dash pad thing is ok, but ive personally never liked dash pads either. sooner or later something will come along.

Maybe this would help, but cutting & recessing the HUD in the desired location.

I can't help but think you could just cut a hole in that plastic piece under the windshield. To the left is a piece under that plastic that looks like it could (or should) be a speaker mounting location. Maybe that could be removed or hammered concave to recess the HUD a bit more if needed. That would keep it tight to the left and toward the bottom. On the other hand, I don't think anyone in their right mind would cut a plastic piece that's IMPOSSIBLE to get a a fair price..

Qcon mounted that thing perfectly. So since it reads from the computer does that make the rpm and shiftlight 100% accurate? Also the readings like the water temp etc.? Could be a great all in one package if the shift light is any good!

Anybody have any pictures on where they routed the wire for the unit? Is it possible to route it inside the dash or something less noticeable then straight up from the OBD II plug?

Maybe try one of our new dash pad covers to cut instead of your own?
