I like the polo green with the black deep dish ZR1's. Ride height looks good too.

Thanks I personally don't like black wheels, but thats what I found for the front wheels, and since I can't get new non deep dish 17x11s and it took me 2 months to find the black front wheels, I went with black rear wheels too. And after I see the stance with the tint and the deep dish rear wheels its really growing on me. I just can't wait to see the car clean and outside. I feel so bad for it getting so dirty over the winter. A good car cover is on my list of things to get before next winter.

I'm going to do everything in my power to keep the stance low like it is, but I'm afraid that its going to have to come up a little bit or I run the risk of putting the drivers side watts link mount through the gas tank. And that is just not acceptable.

I called every parts store in my town (4 of them) and finally got the U joint part number. Looks like a Precision 372 The first store ******* hung up on me after she yelled at me because she couldn't find it in her book. IMHO some women shouldn't have jobs like this. But Napa was cool, I gave him all the measurements and he looked it up no questions asked and has 2 in stock.

And my caliper brackets are suppose to be dropped off tomorrow morning, but I have heard that for 2 weeks now. And if my rear brake pads come today or tomorrow then I have all of the brake parts that I need....Finally haha

But I have a doctors appointment Saturday morning to see if I can get some type of prescription for the eczema I have on my hand This has been bothering me for almost 6 months and I'm sick of it

I'm going to twist my brothers arm and make him run the brake lines since he won't have an excuse not to do them now and then I'm going to start on the exhaust and see where that ends up. I don't have alot of plans, but I would like to get some miles on it before the summer is over

The caliper brackets FINALLY showed up and the douche behind the counter tried to charge me for them again. Took him 15 minutes to figure out that I had already paid for them. But they had the Precision U joint I think I need, so that made up for it a little bit. Then I had to run to the hardware store and get some bolts for the caliper brackets that were $2.80 each, at least I only needed 4 of them And when I got home I had a package that had my Hawk rear brake pads in it

I think I finally have everything. I know I'll run into some little stuff here and there, but for the most part I think I can finally get the brakes finished and hopefully fire it back up this weekend.

So the list of thing to do is as follows...

Finish brake lines
Run battery cables
Run fuel pump harness
Run fuel lines
Mount Power Steering ressy and make the lines
Finish hooking up the wiring
Add fluids
Build exhaust
Paint interior panels
Measure and buy belts forgot about those
Order Passengers Seat forgot about that too

Hopefully thats it, then I can fire it up, take it outside, and give it a much needed bath. Then on the trailer it goes and off to the alignment shop. Then thrash time after a tank of fresh gas

I'll get some new pics tomorrow if all goes well

Thanks bud, I'm starting to feel better about it. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but I'm feeling confident now When I make some more progress I'll post up some more pics

I decided to take the weekend off. My hand has been really bothering me and even wearing gloves doesn't really help. And no one had the brake hoses I need on hand so I had to order them. On top of that we have a heat index of 112* today and I took my dogs out to do their business and was outside for 10 minutes and was already sweating just standing out there.

Ordered a custom braided hose for the rear center today. Way better dealing with the guy I got it from than trying to deal with the local parts guys, they just don't understand doing something custom.

Taking my week long vacation starting Saturday and won't be back until Saturday or Sunday of the following week So no more working on the car for a little while, but when I come back I'm going to hit it hard and get it finished. At least for now I'll have a drivers seat haha

Default Why Does My Car Hate Me So Much???

Saturday I tried to install my driveshaft after I finally got the right U Joint and the stock shaft is about 1" too long. I have read a bunch of different 8.8 installs and the guys are using the stock shaft. WTF is my cars problem.

Then the Hellwig rear sway bar that is suppose to be so amazing fits like ****. It hits on the diff cover and on the subframe of the car. And I guess that my ride height is too low and I need to come up with at least a 2" drop bracket to make the sway bar fit right.

Then I tried to install the LS1 steering shaft that I modified to fit and guess what....that hits on the header so bad that I think I'm going to have to crush that primary in half to make it not rub.

Today I'm going to center the axle in the wheel wells since it is off a little bit, but not an inch off and see if anything will even come close to fitting. Then loosen up the steering column and move it all the way over, or oval out the holes and give myself enough room that I don't have to bash in my headers.

Only thing that actually went together right was the Hotwire kit from Racetronix. Thanks guys, you make an awesome product

So I guess today I get to see what else is going to go wrong. And I'll be working with the brakes, so I'm sure I'll end up with another issue thats going to cost me a few hundred more dollars. I'm about ready to push my car outside and leave it there to think about what its done

Well I feel a little better about working on my Camaro after today. I was going to change the EGR on my sweet '97 taurus DD. 2 metric bolts and one of them decided to break off So that turned out into me yanking off the intake manifold, grinding off the left over chunk of bolt, drilling out the bolt, finding a new bolt, and reinstalling the damn intake.

But after the 15 minute job that took 2.5 hours I decided to work on my car and ran into yet another issue. I tried to fit the rear caliper brackets and I have to modify those too. They sit too far towards the caliper and need about 3/16" ground off to center them on the rotor.

And my axle wasn't centered so I adjusted that a little bit, but didn't test fit the driveshaft since it wasn't perfectly centered yet. But my bro said that he might get a start on the brake lines this week, but I'll see how that goes haha

But I feel a little better about working on my car after working on my POS DD and my buddy almost has his 5.0 Ranger done again and I was trying to beat him out of the garage, so I need to bust some *** next weekend

Bolt extractor would have been the way to go. They aren't expensive.

Yeah, but I didn't have room to drill the bolt with the intake installed to use an extractor

Didn't get anything done this weekend. We had a family reunion at my parents and I had to be social

But I did manage to remove the drivers side inner fender and remove what was left of the factory fuel lines, then I took my center caps home and messed with them. I sanded down the ugly OE wheels center caps and filled the center portion with epoxy then let them setup. And today I spent most of the day sanding, but here is what I came up with after wrapping the smoothed caps with 3D Carbon vinyl that I got from ebay. They actually turned out really well. I'm also going to wrap the triangle things by the windows and the emblem up front

Anyway here are 3 of the caps, the epoxy on the last one is still drying

Time to get this dead beat thread back up. I found a roller that I'm going to try to buy for the interior. That is is the owner isn't on crack, but the interior is mint and would look way better in my car

But other than that I haven't done **** besides sand/epoxy/sand/wrap my center caps and install them on the wheels. They look badass BTW, I guess I'll see how well the vinyl holds up.

Tomorrow I'm going to finish the fuel lines and finish the hotwire kit for the fuel pump. And I got my brother a big bottle of rum to coax him into getting the fuel lines done up

But I'll see what happens, theres alot going on this weekend and I had a horrible week at work

HAHA ya I guess I get carried away when I get an idea in my head. Hopefully one of these days I'll get to enjoy it again for a little bit, then it goes under the knife again. I might take a year off of modifying it though and just gather parts again and try to get my new garage built so I have my own place to work on everything

I got the hotwire kit ran to the front and the fuel lines ran to the front, just have to figure out how to finish routing them. I decided that I am going to order a different battery cable kit since the cable I got was junk. I got the stock driveshaft to fit, but now the rear axle is moved back almost 1/2" too far

I'm getting really close to just putting the stock axle back in it with the UMI TA that I still have. And then getting the trans mount with the relocated TA and driving it again and figure out something from there. I just don't know, I'm getting really fed up with the 4 link and am starting to 2nd guess my decision, but its almost like I have gone too far to turn back now.

A Moser 9" with a relocated PHB and a Global West TA setup is in my future I feel....

I called the guy with the '98+ roller again today and still no answer. I'm hoping he will call me back or at least answer his phone one of these days.

But I think if I end up buying the rolling chassis from that guy, I'm going to set up another set of 4.10s in the 7.5 thats in that car and get mine driving this fall before the snow comes. Then I'm going to take another look at the 8.8 setup and possibly scrap the 4 link setup and build a TA mount for the 8.8. Then I can possibly have the rear end that I built be a working part. But I honestly don't know what I'm going to do right now.

Sorry no new pics, I didn't bother to bring the camera

What trouble is the 4 link causing? I have been following this thread and saw pics of the watts link, but did I miss pics of the 4 link somewhere? I'm about to do Pete-Z type bars, but have also been strongly considering a 4 link set-up instead.

The problem that I am having is that the upper bars are really short, about 6.5" eyelet to eyelet. And the lower bars are about 19.5" eyelet to eyelet. So during suspension travel the pinion angle changes quite a bit. And I'm worried about the strength of the 4 link where its mounted to the body. If I had a roll bar and attached the 4 link plates to the roll cage I would feel a little better about it, but I think I'm going to build a TA mount on the 8.8 this winter. Then there would be alot less clutter and we all know that the TA works really well on these cars.

Or I may get crazy and order a Maximum Motorsports TA setup for a mustang and make it fit my car with an 8.8 Then I may be able to run traditional true duals
