Replacing headliner
Soon I am planning to replace my stock ebony interior carpet with aftermarket upgraded carpet and I want to change over to actual black carpet. I've seen some of the pictures from where other people have done it and I think it looks awesome. The problem is that I'll still have the lighter colored headliner and sun visors.
Has anyone taken one of the aftermarket headliners that's made out of something more sturdy than the stock headliner and tried to wrap it in leather or suede or something other than cloth? What do you guys think? I would also probably either replace the sun visors or cover the stock ones with the same material as the headliner.
Eventually I would like to remove almost all of the interior pieces and wrap them in either leather or some sort of suede-like material, but I'd like to hear some of the opinions while I'm still in the planning stages.

I did an ABS T Top headliner and wrapped in an imitation suede. The fit of the abs replacement wasnt the best fit and took A LOT of heating and forming with a heat gun. The suede wrapped nice but was very hard to get the tight radiuses by the center bar of the t top.

Nice, glad to hear I'm not the only one that has thought of doing this. Would either of you mind posting pictures of how yours looks? Also, where did you get your ABS liner that the fit was not good? If you'd rather not publish that info, a PM would be great. Thanks

I will get pictures as soon as it stops raining. As for where I got it, I want to say stockinteriors but Im not 100% sure. Also the openings for the sunvisor mounts did not line up at all. Its nice with a little bit of work and much stronger then the stock headliner board.

Here's an okay pic of during the process.
I left the tan dome light for the pic to show the great contrast in color (did a tan to ebony swap in the car).
The creases took some heavy negotiating but most of them smoothed out nicely.
Still may redo it over the summer. I left the old material on, and laid the vinyl over so as to give it some cushion and soft feel. But I think the old material is starting to separate and may be what's contributing to the left over ripples.
Good thing is, the vinyl can be reused. Just take your time.
