To anyone with the !grille mod, or thinking about it
The car is a little dirty, but it's winter, so deal...
I got a set of Franker's vinyl inlays for the grille letters to see if they would fit the facia letters. Sure enough they fit great.
This is just the touch this mod needs to liven it up IMO.
Here ya go:

Yea, looks great, especially since you filled in the holes left by the stock grille.....that detail seems to be over looked most by those performing the !Grille MOD....

I did the same thing to my !grille.
See pics in sig
Only I used black touch up paint. A steady hand and it looks sweet!
Did the paint to the front and back.
Be prepared to reapply the vinyl after lots of rock chips in the front.

Where did you get the mesh inserts for the holes?

It came from a home hardware store, similar to Home Depot. It is aluminum and comes in strips somewhere around 8" wide x 4' long. It is gutter gaurd... keeps leaves from clogging the gutters on your house. It cost me around $2 for a strip.
The stuff bends and creases easily, so I had to root through the box to find a perfect piece. One strip is actually enough to do a few cars. I learned as I went though, so I ended up going through some 'practice' pieces.
As for how much it costs to fill and paint the nose...
I don't know. A kid backed into my car in a parking lot. His insurance paid for a new nose for the car. Since it was bare and unpainted, I had the body shop fill the holes before they painted. So in a way, it was much easier for me to get done.
Some things to remember... The foam bumper that can be seen in the nostrils is an ugly tan color. You can paint just the part that can be seen flat black and it will 'disappear' and look much cleaner.
The holes MUST be filled with flexible plastic filler. Anything else, Bondo for example, will not flex with the nose and paint. That will cause the material to crack and/or fall out.
Good luck
Dave

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE GRILLE MOD. HOW HARD IS IT TO DO AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE. DO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE FRONT FASCIA OR CAN IT BE DONE WITH EVERYTHING STILL IN PLACE. THANKS. LOOKS GOOD!

Re: To anyone with the !grille mod, or thinking about it
What is holding the center of the grille in? I got both sides out, but the center is held my some fastener that I cant get out w/o tearing it to pieces. Is it bolted in or what??

The stock grill piece is held in by some clips.
Give it a good yank and it'll come out... may bend the front fascia while you're pulling, but that doesn't hurt it.
