Default Custom 1969 Camaro Speedster

hey guys I thought I would share some pics of a 1969 Camaro that one of my good friends built and owns...

He is an extremely gifted fabricator and painter he owns a custom fab shop Duncan Speed and has built a TON of show cars...

He did everything himself, custom built the hood, trunk panels, ground effects, interior consoles etc... The motor placement was moved back 13"s to make the car 50/50.....

He also did the paint and body work on the car as well..

also as for the motor it is a 800+hp big block built by Grumpy Jenkins...fully suspended...no expense was spared on this car!

Really have to see it in person to appreciate it!

And this is another one of their first gens done by Jimmy

Complete painted and built by him...custom hood, interior and ground effects...

This one is a pro street/show car... Has been featured in Super Chevy

it has a 610 cubic inch motor that makes over 2000hp on the nitrous built by Mark Hedricks....

That's a clean 68! I thought of Hugger Orange with mine, but I ended up painting it black with a cowl. I can't really tell if it's a stepped cowl, or an L88 hood though. Man, I miss my 68...

WOW is right. I'm hoping to retire in 10 years and a Pro Touring type Camaro is on top of the list.

Thanks guys! These were both complete restorations, the bottom sides look as good as the top! The speedster won the best of show a couple of weeks ago at super chevy in fl..

The cowl hood is a complete custom built hood that he made from factory hoods!

Awesome work, but I really dislike that style of hood. A simple cowl hood would have set it off nicely.

The orange one looks better than the black one, although I definately appreciate all the craftsmanship that went into it! The airbrushing ruined it IMO.

Can't please everyone...Most "show" cars are made to be over the top and be as flashy as possible...However, with that being said everyone has an opinion and a style they like....Either way there is no denying that the quality of work is second to none...

He has 2 completely original 1st gens still though....

I understand what you are saying...however like I said above these are "show" cars so it is not cool when you have the same hood purchased from the same place parked next to you...

Thanks guys!

i wonder how well these ridiculous big blocks would fit under a stock hood..

amazing workmanship; regardless of how subdued/over the top (i think the pics are actually over-contrasted for the photo-shoot)

wonder how many hours are into the bodywork/airbrushing/paint

much less the mechanicals of everything else

Yes the photos are over contrasted for aesthetic and presentation purposes...

The motors would not fit under the stock hood AT ALL... the Orange one has a huge Twin carb setup....And the engine bays look amazing as well!

There is around 2000 hrs of paint and body work on the black one not including the airbrushing.....
