IF you consider, people pay thousands for power upgrades, suspension upgrades to make the car perform better, why wouldn't that much (and it takes serious work) to make the body last, prevent rusting (some parts are metal) and keep it looking every bit the part a serious performer? Yes, if done right, it is worth it.

I paid 230 and that was a deal so the answer to your question is YES! lol but only if the guy doing the work make your mouth drop.
gofast is the man in my area and I'm sure you see his work on here. Like this....[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Depends on the area....I normally get between $100 and $200 for a full correction, unless it's a large vehicle. I work for cheap, especially since not many people appreciate what goes in to a full detail. I enjoy the work, but I only average around $20 an hour before expenses. It's got to be a reputable place though, some guys around here will hack it with a glaze/wool pad/rotary and it looks good till the filler washes off. They also wash with a pressure washer and a floor broom. I actually like these guys, I get alot of business from them! You have to remove, not cover up.

If you are detailing incompetent $200-250 is a great price by a professional....but if learning the trade is feasible, spend about $300-350 on a porter cable kit, M105/M205, some brushes, 2 buckets w/ grit guards, etc, and you'll save yourself in the long run (aka 2 details later lol). It's not hard to detail..

I use the PC 7424 and Lake Country pads with Meguires polishes/cutters. Its almost impossible to mess up your paint with my PC... Its just awesome but I am far from a professional. Id pay someone to do it once then watch them, then do it myself after that..

I agree with Trans Am Jam, I'd rather do mine myself. Imo, the actual owner of the car would do the best job detailing their car since it's theirs and they appreciate their car for what it is better than anyone else could. Not to mention, a thorough wash, detail clean, and clay bar is a nice relaxing day with my car

Gofast also detailed my car. It was over $200. Before he detailed my car the white looked dull and off white. I wanted to have my car repainted, but once he was done I was in love with my car.
Find someone with the same attention to detail and has a true love for detailing and it is for sure worth every penny. As far as waxing and etc I haven waxed my car and up until a few months ago it still beaded up water and felt smooth. He detailed my car almost 2 years ago...
My car is a DD and I put at least 15-20k miles on my car

real deal detailing is a bitch, and i hate work like that, so if i had a decent car worthy of a good detail (ie removing all imperfections and swirlmarks), I would pay someone at least once a year to do that ****
also do it before a photoshoot or big carshow
