no the ultras wont burn out that fast. I have said it before my camaro has had ultras in it for 4 years in high low and fogs (which are 880's btw cause I had to switch out the connector from the factory connector as sylvania didnt make one to fit whatever it was that came in my car) my black bike has had them for 3 years until I switched to h.i.d.s white bike has had them since I bought it in late 09. my s10 had them before I went to h.i.ds, a total of 3 years. keep in mind I have 40,000 miles on my bikes where the lights are on all the time. the s10 is my daily and also has drl's so the 65,000 miles I put on it has been with lights on. I have had nothing but goodluck with them. if you dont want to go the h.i.d. route I highly recommend them to you.

LEDs are more for looks. You will not get any benefical light output with them.

Without going HIDs, then use a set of 880 GE nighthawks.

i had 3 different sets go out in the trans am within a 10 month span. if you read the box it even stated they have an extremely reduced life span

The person i bought my TA from used higher output bulbs that partially melted and deformed the housing, the bulb doesnt twist correctly and lock in like it's supposed to. Now it's a pain to replace the bulbs. Beware

I have heard planty complain and believe you but all mine have worked great. I have also heard that at some point ultras may have improved in design but like I said I never had any issues with mine.

They are advertised to have more light output, but to me they still look aoutdated and kind of yellow, not white.

FYI any bulb that has a blue coating has less light output. That's why I was saying to get the GE nighthawks wich have a clear lens.
