Default Spent About 18hrs with John (Weiand) Lingenfelter (Polishing)>>

Maybe tomorrow after I finish detailing the nooks, I can start putting it on. About 18 long hours to get the intake to this point...

Have to have the Bling Bling effect... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Looks awesome. How in the world do you get down in the nooks and crannies? I've got about 13hrs into my water pump and I'm having all kinds of trouble getting to some of the spots.

I have a flexible 5ft shaft that hooks on my grinder which has a 4in wheel on the end. It has saved my life for small areas. It is nice having the part sitting on a table and polishing it.

BUT, those tight nooks, OMG, I used a detail sander to sand them, then my dremmel to smooth and polish. I left the underside rough, but shined it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Learning to flex the loose wheel in those tight spots is the best way to do it.

I'll tell you, I did not touch the intake with a sander yet, I polished my butt off for those hours to get it smooth. Tomorrow the nooks, I did start using the dremmel tonight to get a jump on things for tomorrow. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Todd, I can't understand why you just don't want to drive a plain looking car, I do. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Great job.

Looks amazing as usual. I'm pretty sure that you can buy the manifold polished. Why did you choose to go this route? Projects are half the fun so I understand if that's your reason.

Thanks again! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I am glad you put up with me posting, lol.

unit213...I do all of my own polishing as a hobby. Pretty proud, I did everything myself so far on the car. I more than reached my goal of a return on my investment buying the equipment, and it is very rewarding. Cost was $15, Time Free, lol.

98ghost4mula...Here is a like to a write up I did that may help you. Polishing Tips

Steve...Your car is the pinnacle. In the next couple weeks I am going for a little more detail but you are way beyond me. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Well I need to get polishing. I did three of my caliper brackets then the intake came, needless to say I jumped on polishing the intake. Now I have one wheel not polished, lol.

Cool! Have you considered taking it to a machine shop and having them mill down the Weiand logo and machining your own design or something on that square chunk that sticks up. If so, I'll help you out with the artwork.

That looks really nice. I've been wanting to get one of those myself. I was wondering though if one could grind off the Weiand label and make it appear as if it was never there?

Or I thought of having a billet plate made to fit the area..

Cant wait to see it installed <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
