A lot of people like Folex. You can get it at Lowes and I'm sure other local places. I have used it in the past but right now I'm using Adam's carpet and upholstery cleaner. I really like that stuff.
Exact same towels! I think a 10 pack at MF Tech was under $30 last I checked.

I'm a big folex fan. I like that it doesn't foam up on you when you're working it in. I've had that problem with many other products before. It's especially nice that it can be diluted down as well. I'm hoping that once my steamer arrives that I'll be much less dependant on chemicals and more dependant on good old h20! I'll have to try that Adam's carpet cleaner though, I've heard good things. Been meaning to bust out the new wheel cleaner and APC I have from them as well.

I'm interested in Adam's new wheel cleaner also. I love Sonax but damn it's expensive.

^I started using the Adams recently. I was out of Sonax when I saw it advertised here on the board. After using Sonax for about a year since I got my wheels, my first impression of the Adam's stuff is that it works just as good as Sonax IMO. I havent used it enough to say its better but I will say it works just as good. It didnt have the awful smell of Sonax and it took less work on my part to get my polished wheels clean. For Sonax being expensive though, I use to always buy it on Autogeek buy 2 get 1 free for like $32.

Do you really like the shampoo plus? I can't wait to finish my gallon. It is almost impossible to rinse off and kills my beads at 1oz per gallon dilution, which is the recommended. I'm a fan of the duragloss 901.

I agree with you. I think the new Adam's cleaner will work fine for maintenance wheel cleanings, but not much more than that imho. I just bit the bullet yesterday and ordered the two 5L Sonax package. $160 in wheel cleaner is a little ridiculous, especially for a weekend warrior like me, but whatever. When I need it, it'll be ready to go.

Damn that's pretty impressive. I have seen another vid where either Barry or Dave was showing it on a convertible top.

Maybe I'm washing them wrong?
Most liquid detergents do a good job, but I usually add a 2/3 cup of distilled white vinegar to it. It helps break up the polishes/waxes/compounds and helps fluff them back up too.

I prefer the white, green, and gray (red border) towels from detailing.com. Amazing towels.

I like my Mytee HP60 hot water extractor....but they are kinda pricey.

303 Carpet cleaner is the best I have ever used (outside the extractor). Haven't used Folex but I don't doubt its ability with so many backing it. At $7 per 32oz in a convenient spray bottle its hard to beat.

I have noticed it killing beading, but the beading does return. The stuff is super slick, AMAZING lubricity. So I like using it on cars with very soft clears that I spent hours/days correcting, lessening the chance of marring.

Hi- just saw this thread. Any pro detailers know if this will buff out?

Scuff from someone trying to parallel park.

Wow. That's a bit more than a 'scuff'. That is serious damage and will not "buff out". Repaint needed.

Sweet. Brand new bumper less than 2 weeks old. I'll try what I can to wetsand/buff to maybe make it less.

I only have liability... so I dont think its covered.. I might try to clean it up and then see if it could be fixed with touchup first before blowing dough on another repaint.

I do like the lubricity, and it's cheap, only like 15 bucks a gallon. It literally takes about a minute for all the water to sheet off after I rinse it though, it's ridiculous.

Have you tried meg's hyper wash? I'm thinking about trying that for the other cars that I wash besides mine since the dilution ratio is pretty cost effective.

When I removed my door moldings I used 3m adhesive and wax remover. Everything came out great. I always wax my car by hand and I used mothers 3 step afterward and the car just looked amazing. Much better than when I've clay barred it in the past and did the same 3 step. I got lots of compliments and people asking what wax I use. Seemed like that 3m stuff really cleaned up the paint as a side effect

So my questions are. Is that stuff safe to use repeatedly? Or maybe even as a substitute for claying it? It's a silver metallic and it really made the metal flake pop.
