I posted a couple days ago about my experience with Meguiar's new NXT Tech-Wax and ColorX. That thread can be found here. Today I was able to snap a few pics of the car with two applications of ColorX and two applications of NXT. I threw a picture of my car with several coats of Zaino on it in for comparison, though the variance in lighting between the two pictures may skew the actual appearance of the car somewhat.

Based on my experience with both Zaino and now NXT, I think the mere convinence factor of NXT gives it a slight advantage over Zaino. I can't comment on durability, but I'm not too worried about it, as I polish my car pretty often. I think I'm still going to give Menzerna/Blackfire a try.

josh - you need to quickly take off the title of each picture. it's much more impressive when you let us decide which has which.

btw, the nxt looks KILLER! i can't tell a difference between the two if you had not pointed it out.

I feel just the conveinience factor of being able to go to the local store to buy it puts it above Zaino.

Meguires has always made nice products.

Tuffluck...you have convinced me to purchase the colorx got it at walmart for under 7 bucks...pretty good deal. As soon as spring break comes, I'll post pictures of my Formula. I think I am going to try the ColorX with all of the Zaino products applied witht the Porter Cable 7424. I'm hoping for the best (black car). Thanks for the inspiration. Josh, your car looks great.

I just used the colorx and nxt on my red ws6. It turned out much better than previous meguiars products. I am going to try the menzerna/souveran combo next. Has anybody tried the souveran paste yet?

What is the Colorx used for? Is it needed or is best to use this before applying the NXT.....thanks

yes it is. it's a type of polish that takes out swirls (hides them really) and really makes the color of your car stand out. it will make the tech wax look much better. i did two coats of colorx and two coats of tech wax. i had bad swirls though, so it may not be necessary to use 2 coats of the colorx for you.

looks incredible. I really hate people that believe nothing is better than Zaino. If you would post those pics and say it was done with Zaino they would love it to death. Post them and say it's something else, it sucks. Me and a friend did a test like that on another message board.

I bought the NXT a week ago and haven't had clear weather to put it on. I'll try to get pics from when I do.

ur sloww - I polish using menzerna before I apply Souveran - that is on my "show" car. On my Daily Driver I've started using ColorX/NXT because it is so easy and the results are real nice. Pinnacle isn't very durable, but on my garage queen (the firehawk) nothing else touches the car. To me, its worth every penny and I am on my second jar of the stuff - bear in mind its a show car wax, not a durable protectant.

BlackWS602 - I've played that game before too. Tell them its Zaino and they rave about it, tell them its something else and they say it sucks. Its ridiculous. I've even done it in real life at a car show, guy comes over "man you must have used Zaino on that thing that's the most shiny car I've ever seen" - me - "yeah man it is" - him - "yeah I only use Zaino on my car, its SOOOOO much better than everything else" - me - "oh thats funny, because this is actually menzerna followed by pinnacle souveran - no Zaino on the car at all..." - him - "oh......"
