HISTORY LESSON

A lot of people aren't aware of this, but those '01 - '02 WS6 Speedline wheels first made their appearance on the '95 - '97 BF Goodrich Comp T/A. As the old saying goes, "There's nothing new under the sun."

Yeah, when they 1st came out on the Comp TAs, I liked them a lot, except for the fact that they were painted. They then reappeared in July or August of 2001 as a mid year replacement, polished. Came stock & still there on my '02 ws6.

I always thought they were the BEST looking, factory f body wheel, I just don't like polished/chrome finishes.

In addition to Comp T/A, these wheels were also introduced for Firehawk in 1995.

It is correct that they weren't issued on the first month or two of 2001 model year production, but they were re-introduced well before July/August of '01 as that date was already after the end of '01 production and these wheels were standard issue on WS6 cars for the vast majority of the 2001 MY.

Just a matter of preference, but I always felt the Speedlines were a big step down from the QF6 wheel used on WS6 from '96-'00 (silver painted with polished lip at first, then full polished later, also blue anodized for the '99 30th anniversary package) and again for the '02 CETA (in black with a polished lip). But either is FAR better than the N66 3-spoke wheel that was extremely rare, but standard equipment, on the 2000 WS6s (most were delivered with the optional QF6 wheel.)

IMO, the best 4th gen F-body Pontiac wheel was the '93-'94 Firehawk wheel.
