MUCH better looking!
The wrap is from Redline Goods and has the extra padding if you missed my other thread. The center and airbag matches the factory ebony color now. The controls are back to glossy silver which match my gauges.
HDR vs non HDR shots
Before
I wasn't too keen on the gloss black controls or the gloss from the FLAT black vinyl dye on the wheel and airbag. Those were originally dark grey since my car is a 99. My new Redline Goods wrap made this mess made look like complete **** in comparison.
The original vinyl dye I used was from Marhyde, Jet black. It was suppose to be a matte finish. While it does have a matte finish on most things, the steering wheel, airbag, center console and door arm rest are of the same rubbery material and turn out glossy instead. You can't get the Marhyde stuff anymore so I bought flat black from Duplicolor thinking that would be better. Nope, still glossy.
Hot tip for all you dark grey interior guys that swapped to ebony but have the original dark grey steering wheel and airbag.
I found out by chance as I was prepping the glossy finish to spray the flat black the solution to my glossy problem. I was scuffing it up with a green Scotch Brite pad to prep. Well after I sprayed the flat dye and it was still glossy, all I had to do was lightly scuff it up to make it dull. Looks perfect now! So if you want an ebony steering wheel and airbag from dark grey, Duplicolor flat black, which will still be glossy and go over it lightly with a Scotch Brite pad.

Couple questions for you. Did you just paint your HVAC and Headlight *****, or did you buy them somewhere?
Also, what's your opinion on installing the steering wheel cover yourself? Or did you send it off to someone else?
