Default Interior Lights changed to Blue LEDS

Well...I got my new leds, so I thought I'd change the "easy" ones first. Boy was I wrong. Upon pulling the covers off, I realized that the website directed me to the wrong led bulb, so I should've stopped there, but I wanted to see what bulb it actually was, so I tried to get the bulbs out, and my fingers could hardly fit in there. I then took the mirror off, to see if I could get a better grip, and nope...still can't get in there with my fingers. So, I used a latex glove over the jaws of the needle nose and grasped as far down the base of the bulb as I could get to without hurting anything else. It took some coaxing, but it finally came out. For those of you who want to switch these to led, they are NOT the 4410-9 Festoon as the website calls for. They are the WLED-xhp5. It appears that the mirror and bulbs changed in mid 2001. So for those of you wanting to do this, make sure what bulbs you have before ordering.

These are the ones needed for my type mirror.

Finished product

I also changed the hatch light. That was a pain in the tail too.

Had to trim tab a little to get the loop to fit right.

All done for now. Next I'll tackle gauges.

I did all leds in my interior a while ago and it looks great at night. IMO cool white looks better than blue.

+1 for a night shot, looks a bit too bright from that pic.

Off topic, i there a way to keep the lights from going on when opening the doors? without disconnecting them? I dont like the lights turning on when i remove the key from the ignition at night.

Did my door light too. Here's a night shot of them. They are super bright. Gotta figure out a way to tone them down a little bit.

looks pretty good. I've been hesitant on doing them, but will probably get around to it when the stock ones blow

I like the color too but mine keep going out! 1 LED at a time and sometimes 3 or 4. I installed the Temp / Comp but got the mirror without the lights ... lol this wasn't intentionally

this is covered in a thread on here (the thread lists ALL f-body bulbs) and specifically calls out what years used the 921 bulb instead of the festoon bulb.

Sometimes no matter how hard I search for information, I never find every thread that's written about a topic. Thanks for the info.

I found it when I was researching this idea, but other more important things have taken precedence over interior lighting.

FYI something else not mentioned is to do things a little different on the hatch light as some people say it only points "one way" so it won't light both the hatch area and the back seat is to get a smd board similar to this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-White-48-SMD-5050-LED-Panel-Lamps-For-Car-Interior-Dome-Lights-Trunk-Cargo-/130890858760?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e79b40108&vxp=mtr or 2 smaller versions of that and wire them together with one angled each way. (I'm not promoting or suggesting that specific one, it was simply the first one to come up in the search results).
