Default Meguires #16 paste wax

I scored a sealed tin of Meguires #16 paste wax from a member on this forum. This wax was highly recommended by gofast (jeff) a professional detailer on
this site. When I opened it I found that it is hard in the middle and like a liquid around the sides of the can. Is there something that I have to do to this wax
or do I use it the way it is?

Tried shaking it or stirring it? I don't what that particular product says but most say "shake well before use"

I would either try shaking it up or stir it up and see what that does. I know some waxes will break down after time and you can shake it up or stir it and it may be fine and with others, once it breaks down, it's time to throw it away.

You can, if you wish, melt it and see if it will remix. It is NOT recommended, but I have done it to this wax with good results. Simply place the wax in a heat-safe bowl and suspend it over boiling water. It will melt at a fairly low temp, then place it back into the container and let it air cool.

Fuggin sweet, I'm glad I decided to randomly check the Appearance forum! I just got an unopened can of this stuff from another member and noticed it looked kinda funky when I opened it and thought WTF am I going to do with this?! That link you posted summed it up nicely, I can't wait to use it now!

I bought mine from a member on this forum for $35.00 shipped. After I re-melted it and let it cool for at least 24 hrs, I tried it on my black t/a and WOW. This wax is bad ***.

I paid 35 as well, I have a feeling you probably got yours from the same guy transwiz if you bought yours on here about 3 weeks ago.

We bought it from the same guy on the forum. It reminds me a little of p21 100% but has a more wet look.Sealents don't have the glow that carnuba waxes have. The thread on here ask a professional detailer,go fast says that the meguires #16 is worth it at any price. I would have to agree.
I like pinnacle signature wax,p21 100% and a few other waxes, but there is something about the meguires #16 that keeps me wanting to go back to it.

I haven't even had a chance to try it yet. Weather has been crappy and my Malibu needs an exhaust so I haven't been driving that enough to keep the Camaro in the garage to do a full wash/polish/wax. I can't see the car being driven much in the next few weeks so I think next week if I get some nice enough weather on my days off I'm going to go ahead and clean it for winter storage. I've heard it's not the best wax to use on darker colors, but that it's still a damn fine wax regardless, so I'm excited to see how it comes out. At least I'll be able to take my time with it and experiment on different application and removal techniques. Everything I've read about it says it can be a real bitch take off if you don't put it on just right.

I think it looks great on dark colors.Just put it on thin and don't let it sit too long.I suggest that you put it on a spare panel and check it out before putting it on your car. I use a glaze under the wax.
When I get a new wax I try it on a spare set of headlight covers so I get a chance to test it's characteristics.

i will say that it looks great. silver is a hard color to get the wet look with, and it did put me about the closest i have gotten to that.

Nice man! I'm actually in the garage right now polishing up my grey metallic '04 Malibu and will be trying the wax on this car first. Winter is a comin' soon and the Camaro is just about ready to be a garage queen for the next 6 months, so it's time to get the Malibu ready for winter and I've read this wax is pretty damn hardy so I'm figuring it should be perfect for winter time protection. I'll be doing the wax tomorrow, and I'm excited to see how it comes out and what it's like to apply.

Kinda bummed, had to revert to my NXT for the Malibu, as I was kind of on a timeline this weekend to get it done and I didn't have an applicator :-/ Oh well, now I have all winter to get the Camaro done at least, one panel at a time taking as long as I need lol.
