Default Place for 3 aftermarket gauges besides pillar pod (wanted: pictures)

I need a spot to do 3 aftermarket gauges (EFP, Fuel level, and Voltmeter) and I'm looking for ideas on where to place them (and pics, if anyone has done) besides the a-pillar.

Put them in the vents silly...duh haha but if you still have AC idk where youd put them, because you could also put it where the air controls sit make youself a little panel. Or i guess you could put them on top of the dash like the 370z

I still have AC and will not be ditching it.

Anyone ever fit a universal triple pod on top of the dash? Seems difficult given how sloped the dash is.

I did find this

which looks fine and will circulate enough air, but only 2 gauges. There's also this one but it doesn't look like there would be enough circulation.

I believe one guy has a gauge in his door panel where the factory tweeter was. Iirc it was on a ta though. Never really payed attention to Camaro door panels. But being that low i dont know if I want that. Having to look that far down and all while driving. But just an idea

I've been throwing an idea around for a roof console to house some switches, & gauges. The sunvisors would need to be deleted if not already. if i had a spare headliner i would glass one up to try it out.

Thanks for the idea but definitely a no go. Still hoping someone tried a universal 3 pillar pod on top of the dash.

This is a good idea and I've considered it too, still have not seen pictures of anyone try it. Guess I'd need to always have sunglasses with me :p

I think T-top cars look better without sunvisors so that fuels me a little more to want to do something like that. if i could find a way to mount something over the factory headliner without damaging it i would go for a roof console. as i see it it would be pillar to pillar and and windshield to t-tops, it needs to look somewhat factory.

That would be pretty neat. There would be a nice bit of work included but you could get a dash pod and mount it to the roof. And then just put some fabric and tie it in.

Yeah mine is a hardtop. Which I prefer overall, but I can see the without sunvisors deal looking better in a t-top car.

People give me grief for where I mounted my gauges, but I don't care, I like it. I bought autometer gauge pods and had to notch the pod mounting pads.

I can get a better picture up over the weekend maybe, supposedly going to hit 60, maybe it will melt the foot of snow off my car.

I just don't like the whole pillar of pods look.

I picked this up today and am going to try it out. It looks like it will fit perfectly, not sure why others don't do this.

I am intrigued now for a roof mounted gauge pod. Where did you find the dash pod at? i could use one of those and save a few hours on molding one from foam, plus it looks easy to blend into a full console. Would anyone be interested in seeing a finished roof console?

Local performance shop, it is autometer 5288 (universal pod).

And yes would like to see a roof mounted console/pod.

For the roof mounted I'm interested too. Could you not modify a radar rear mirror mount to fit a gauge?

How do you plan on securing the pod to the dash?? And running wires?

if u try, u can probly mount that universal pod above the rearview mirror from the top, poking down thru the headliner

Quick Reply: Place for 3 aftermarket gauges besides pillar pod (wanted: pictures)
