That looks excellent!
I remember you said it has an input for a compass and something else. Would it be possible to show A/F ratio, fuel pressure, or oil temp? I'd like to avoid having to do pillar pods and gauges.

Yes it does for the compass, it an optional and would need to specify you want it. At this point no to the engine parameters and Im not to sure it will in future. It would take a lot of resources to pull that off when something like it already exists on the market. For the exact reason as you, not wanting any extra gauges, is why Im putting the plx dm-100 screen on the other side. Its versatile enough to handle any input I want including wide band, it also doubles as a scan tool. Icing on the cake is its the same 160x128 OLED screen were using for the odometer.

Another update
Good news!
I finished Revision 0.91 of the firmware, which I'll start test driving tomorrow!
Hopefully all the little gfx glitches are gone now ;-)
I'm happy to report that screen update refresh time has not suffered from the background merge, there is no noticeable difference between this and the black-background version.
Oh, and the OLED displays have arrived, I.e. UPS notified me and I can pick up the parcel tomorrow morning! How cool is that?
Going to reward myself with some TV now... ;-)

Almost Done...
Three display boards done and tested, now I just need to make the connectors/cables, now I'm waiting for input on the length...
BTW, the little boards connect the short, flexible and fragile looking pigtail inside the cluster to the sturdier cable carrying the 8 signals to the main connector.
Don't worry about the bubbles, there's a protective tape on the displays...

It was designed for F-bodies with digital odometer but would work with pretty much any GM vehicle. I toyed with the idea of fitting the display into a 3rd gen tach, it might fit, but I haven't found a cheap one here for hacking... I put it into my Fiero as well. And it works there too. It's really just a matter of fitting the display unit somewhere.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback!
I have finished the hardware last night, but fortunately caught an issue with the boot loader causing the OLED to fail initialization intermittently. The USB or "normal" firmware files are not affected, so it's just a cosmetic issue, but I still want to fix this before sending the beta units off because the boot loader is the only thing I can not update remotely.
I'm also considering speeding up the boot loader while I'm at it and want to run a few tests, flash firmware, etc.

Flashed the V1.1 bootloader into all beta units, and calling it a night now...
Tomorrow: testing!
