Rear bumper repaint
If the avatar is true, maybe you need to invest in some wheelie bars

If it is true, I am going with the mods you have in your signature aswell

... wait, I have all of those mods.. bleh I want to do wheelies!
,the only way that happens is if they sand(wet or dry) and buff it,there is no paint out there that will give you an orange-peel-free finish, and if you can get your bumper done that cheap and actually last, more power to you
before I get all the parts re-installed.He has my SS hood and spoiler which he's doing as well, he explained that he's going to sand and buff all the parts (includes underside of the hood) during the process. According to him, there will be no orange peel - he offered this before I could inquire. I've used this dealership body shop before and they do great work. I'll know Wed/Thursday....
Sounds like you've had a few problems with repainted fascia covers, please share so I know what to look for.

Are you saying he is going to sand and buff under the hood?
,I would seriously doubt he would, but if he does check for "burnt" edges(all the way back to the primer or gel-coat),cause in all honesty it would take longer to do underneath vs. the top,and frankly not worth seeing the waviness of the gel coat under there anyways. As far as the bumper stuff goes,I've done this stuff for over 16 years now,and have seen pretty much everything

Basically the hood and spoiler are red, so he has to color change it to Monterey Maroon Metallic. He was explaining that the red that was on the hood had orange peel and that he would sand it down, repaint it and sand/buff to a glass finish. Basically he said that there wont be any orange peel - I assume he meant the visible areas (not the underside).
Now the bumper is a different story, its a new OEM part so he gave me that low price cause of the other stuff he was doing for me. I've read where some people were having problems with painted bumper covers - figured I'd ask you what mistakes body shops make when they paint them.
Thanks for you input and not jinxing me

Option 1:
Pay $250.00 to paint the bumper cover (remove, paint and reinstall labor/paint fee's). According to them each panel is $250.00 for a repaint unless of course you have other damage (i.e. dents, deep deep scratches etc...).
Option 2:
I could work with the body shop painter and see if he wanted to do the work on the side since I stated the parts would be removed off the car (no way am I leaving this car outside my garage). He agreed and quoted me a price, the only catch was I'd have to remove all the parts (SS hood and spoiler were sitting in my garage uninstalled, bumper cover was brand new in a box) and bring them to him. He also wanted me to bring the car to him so he could check the color match.
Hope this helps in some way.
