I used to have a ton of pictures, but can't find them anymore. Only person that I know of is on www.cz28.com and his screen name is Whistler. At the bottom of this page is his car, but you can't really tell it's a targa top

me too. i pmed Whistler, and asked him about his car, as it is the only one i have seen. but he hasnt responded. i do know that his camaro was ttops and he made a custom piece out of carbon fiber. i would like to retain the original roof if possible, just add supports for it, weatherstripping, and locks. but i have no idea where to start. i dont want to get started without some type of idea of how much it will cost and how long it will take.

ive been looking at the roof of the car...and it seems simple enough. there is already lines on the roof so you know where to cut, the only problem would be the locks and such. but i was just thinking...why not get the ttop a pillar's and b(?) pillars from somewhere...and theres more to this idea, but i need more time to think. lol. have you thought of anything?

I'd love to do this conversion, but wouldn't want to do it myself.

I believe whistler is a member here as well, but haven't seen him post in quite a while.

yeah i was thinking about getting a respected body shop to do it...i just couldn't justify paying a whole lot of money for it...so that means it prolly won't happen

whistler is a member, just doesnt post often. i pmed him a few days ago, hopefully he will respond. i would prefer to have a shop do the conversion, but i dont think the cost is worth it to me. people do ttop conversions all the time...why not this?

when i was stationed in pensacola, there was shops around that would do sunroofs in cars, for around 300 or so, this is a little more complicated....but only because of the locking mech you would need to fabricate. i will take a look at the inside roof of my car, and then my from ttop z28, and see if it would be possible to get a cracked set of ttops (for free) and maybe take off the end part, that locks them to the body, and see if it would be possible to make it all mesh together. now im excited. lol

off topic: how much did it cost to have your wheels widened? did you do all 4 or just the rear?

their website says 250+ for chrome...but i'm almost positive it wasn't that much...maybe it is cheaper to just widen it

i'd most likely only do this if the car came as a hardtop...i think i'd be alright with the t-tops...too much work and money to just go from t-tops to targa top...
