center console in brushed aluminium??
I was guessing if any one /make/have seen an aluminium conversion on the center-console part(s) of the interior, ,As 93-02 trans-am interiors look too plastic too me .
there is an aluminium gauge bezel but they do not make it for europian dash-bords,(as meters/signlights are differently distributed)
The air conductions in aluminium would be nice aswell.
I have considered painting it silver, but I do not think this center-console lookes that good, painted.Did anyone dare to paint the plastic interior, and made it look better!!!
Thanks in advance for all your suggestions or pics, they are highly appreciated
thanks,Boyd

I personally think wood grain is too Cadillac for a fast car like ours. I have seen a few pics with the brushed aluminum cover pieces and it looked good. The carbon fiber also looks good, if you get real c/f and not immitation. I have seen the aluminum on eBay for around $60 for the whole kit. Wood grain and others are the same price. The true c/f kit is around $500.

Ya the whole wood trim thing belongs more on luxury type cars. I mean it looks good in my audi, but just wouldn't fly right with the camaro. The real CF kits are quite nice but fairly pricey. As for painting, well it can get tricky. The color you use has to blend in with everything else on the car and should be subtle. I went with the paint and had my peices pro painted at a bodyshop to match my car exterior (Lt pewter metallic). They came out very nice and complement my car very well (I have never recived a negative comment on them, even people who weren't a fan of painted peices still liked how I did mine)

I agree. If time is taken on prep and paint, it can look very nice. I have a couple of friends that have red Z28s that just painted theirs with red vinyl paint. I think it looks too plain and gaudy. I have been prepping mine for a while now (too lazy to just finish) and its gonna be show car quality (I hope). Sanding, primer, sand, paint, paint, clear, clear, clear, clear, wet sand. That should do the trick. Mine is not going to be as subtle though. I wish it was but I think it would look best in my car painted the same blue as my AfterthoughtsAuto wheel skin and Autometer C2s. It should be nice to have a high gloss touch to the interior.

I'm only guessing, but I'd assume that they go over your stock plastic pieces with some kind of double sided tape or something.... correct me if I'm wrong anyone

well ,I think it is some kind of precut(molded) vynil paint sheet(flat) you have to put it on like a sticker or something...at least that is what it seems to me anyone actually knows it?thanks guys

ya im not sure. the genuine series is the actual material. so it isnt like a cheap imitation of brushed alumnium. if its not too hard to install and would look good, i think i might try it out. if anyone else does or has done it, tell us how u like it.

I did some looking around and I found this guy's site:
http://www.members.tripod.com/juan41110/
I dont know what kit it is but thats the general idea of what those flat kits look like.
Some kits have different pieces so always check the schematic before buying.
www.sherwooddash.com and www.exoticwooddash.com are two other places to check.
Altough they do make some good kits, I'm still out on how good those flat kits look in a 4th gen Firebird. The burled walnut kit for the Hyundai Santa Fe looks great (my roomate has one).
Some selective painting helps also. Check out the silver vent rings and black radio trim:
Also note the leather shift boot on the Auto.
I am thinking of changing the **** and replacing the boot with a black one with silver stitching. I'm also thinking of a leather boot for the e-brake. I'm also looking for a Pontiac Arrowhead emblem that will fit next to the TCS switch (where there is an arrohead indentation). All the ones I find are too big.
