Default New Bling polished..Ls1 stock fuel rails

Here is a shot of a stock set of Ls1 fuel rails. They polish up rather nice.

And how they look with the rest of my mess.

lingenfelter/holley intake on the way and would like to do this as well. I have a dremmell what else is involved?

I'm also interested on what you did to achieve this. How do you keep the polished look? Or how do you protect it from fading/becoming weathered?

They look very nice! Now I've got another project for my husband (he's a machinist and very adept at polishing things).

Well the best equipment to do this is if you can use a large type of buffer or a grinder-stand type, with a 6-8" buffing wheel. Go with a loose type of wheel vs the hard and dense type, makes it alot easier to get into the tight spots. The most important point is to use a rough compound to start, vs a real soft compound, which is used for the final finish-buff. The rails are made of stainless steel so once they are polished they should be fine. For good buffing supplys you can go to Eastwood for all your needs, weather it be for alum or steel or what ever you want to buff, they have a full kit if you realy want to get into polishing, with videos as well. For the self starter.

Just finished polishing my lingenfelter as well. saved about 400.00 buying a used satin manifold.
More bling to come..........

What are the fuel rails made of? I thought it was a dipped steel....are they aluminum?

If so it's not going to be to hard of a job to polish those

nevermind I read the above post, stainless steel..thanks
