VFN hoods?
Anybody have a VFN hood because I was just wondering how close the spacing is and how well they're made? I was wanting to get their 4" WS6 hood but just wondering how other people like theirs?

I have a 3" SS style hood, and I'll be honest with you, the quality was nice as far as weight
but the molding on my hood was very poor
it had BAD BAD waves in it, that you could see on the straight finish even without paint. It cost me about 300 in body work to get it to where he could paint it, and my body guy is cheap. Other than the bad amount of waves the hood looks sick.

I have the very first Sunoco hood. Fit and finish are great. Nothing but good things to say about VFN. My car is on their web site if you want to take a look. I have also posted a lot of pictures in this forum.

I did call them, not only did it not come with an insert, the guy I talked got very snotty with me, almost as if he was insulted that I had a problem, like it can't happen or he was to good for it.
The hood turned out great I'm just not happy with VFN at all.

My VFN hood came in about a month ago. Looks awesome. The only problem I have is that on the passenger side, the hood does not match the body line at the front half, it sits about a quarter inch higher than the body at the headlight, with the stopper not touching the hood. Is there any way to fix this? I was thinking of removing the stopper completely, and setting something heavy on the hood to bend it back at that point. Anybody out there had to do this before?? VFN, what do you recommend??

I have the 3" SS Style Hood on my 2002 Camaro SS.
I am VERY pleased with the workmanship and durability
of this hood. I purchased the Bolt-On version.
Yes, you will have to do some final finish work as each
car varies to some degree. I've sent VFN several pictures
of my SS, but I haven't seen them on their site.......yet. Takes a while.
My SS is Street/Strip and handles the rigors, and extra
vibration just fine. It was the ONLY Aftermarket Hood that
appealed to me. I would recommend VFN in a second.
Once again,....an Exceptional Hood!
As far as Hood Alignment..........
Install the hood on the vehicle for about 2-3 weeks prior to painting.
This WILL help the hood mold to the car.
You WILL probably have to remove the Hood Hinges and drill them out
using a 3/8" drill bit. The holes are already 5/16". You'll need to drill
them out to enable the hood to mount flush. This is due to the Hood
being of thicker material than your factory hood. When the edges fit
properly at the windshield the corners above the headlights WILL fit
properly as well. A little trim work may be needed on the under side of
the hood. There's a lip edge that you can shave down for proper fitting.
I would definitely advise that you let the hood stay on the car UNPAINTED
for 2-3 weeks so that it can mold to the car. Afterwards, then paint it.
These notes are fo the Bolt-On Hood ONLY.
Not sure about the Pin-On.
PM me with your email address and I'll send you some pics.
