Default Drying your car after washing?

What is the general opinion on shammys to dry your car with? I've heard things like they leave swirl marks on the surface.

Is it better to use a cotton towell?

I use a 100% cotton towel, its an old clean bath towel that seems to work great.

Mr Clean car wash system! You don't need to try it! I thought it was crap but I have VERY hard water with lots of lime. I always got water spots on my black car. Used the Mr Clean deal and it works great. I let it air dry and go back with the detailing spray and a microfiber towel to clean off any spots that might be left. Previously I used the California Car Cover's silicone water blade and then a cotton towel to wipe off the excess with.

i use microfiber towels, with no tabs. they sell them for a $1.00 at Menards, so i usually pick a few up once and a while, and when they get old just toss em.

i agree with the leaf blower.you can get all the water out of all the cracks and not have to worry about it dripping later.then just go over it real quick with detail spray.
just make sure its an electric blower.

I usually let it sit for a while letting it air dry to a certain degree then go back and use detailing spray w/ a micro fiber cloth.

I use the hose with no nozzle on it and hold it above the car and let the water flow down and bead all the water off. Then when it gets close to dry I go for a cruise down a local road( I live in the country) do about 100 and its dry as can be. When I come back use detailing spray and cotton towel.

Thats what I use now. I've tried every thing else that has been suggested on here and on a black car you just can't win with any off them. The water blade works well but leave's plenty of scatches, same with chamios. The mr clean works well but i really think it removes the wax/zanio altough its probably does't take it off all at once it just seems to not shine as long when I used it. So I started useing the leaf blower and works like a charm just blow it off and then go over it with detailer. The less a towel or anything for that matter thouches the car the better. Black cars are such a pain.

I've always wondered how the Mr. Clean works, but it's to expensive, and NOT reusable you have to buy the refills.

mr clean just filters the water and sprays a very very fine mist that dries quickly

i have some kinda of shamois-type drying towl i dont remeber what its called, i ahve considered compressed ait, tho ive had too much experience with water in the air lines from time to time

how much do those leaf blowers go for? id like to try that
