Throwing SS Badges on a Z28, wrong or right
!?........that was just lame dude.

Though now that I think about it I did remove the Z28 badges from my Z28 and I never put them back on. It was kinda like putting v6 badges on Z28.
Your car, your money, your choice.
A member here just posted that he got screwed on a purchase, thought he was buying an SS. Hopefully he did't buy it from some dirtbag on this site that claimed it was a real SS.

I dont like anything, I like my cars with no badges at all.....
Its also my opinion that once you get past the badging, z28's are on par with its 'SS sibling with the ls1 (the main and most important ingredient).
They don't even get the 1LE suspension as standard because you can get that on a Z28 as well. You just check it on either one, just like leather isn't standard on the SS.
I bought my car with the intention of making it a SS clone race car (drag racing).
I am finishing doing just that within the next couple weeks.
Here is my reasoning.
-I didn't want to pay the price for a SS with no real advantage being I was replacing most of the stuff anyway and the Z I bought already had a SS hood and I already had SS wheels.
-and my biggest reason is I planned on ripping this car apart and changing just about everything for dragracing. I would rather do this to a Z28. If I had a real SS there is no way I could tear into it like that. I just don't like ruining the value of anything that has a lesser amount of cars made. There are tons of Z's I don't mind cutting it up so bad. Some people can do it but not me.
-unless you are trying to scam someone I don't see anything wrong with it. Lets say you built a Camaro from the ground up using no gm parts on the car. a tube chassis car. Could I call it a Camaro if I wanted to? Could I call it a Camaro SS if I wanted to? Could you call it a Z28 if you wanted to? In reality its not even a Camaro at all.
I thought about keeping the Z emblems or maybe even retro Z emblems but its not what I wanted. Is there any reason I should not be allowed to do this? Should I have bought the SS and paid extra money for it and cut it up?
btw I plan to keep this car forever

I'd assume your forum demographic doesn't contain many shoppers looking high dollar, rare collectable muscle cars. In your case, I can understand the sensitivity to this issue.
Saying you like a hood, wheels, spoiler... ok. Trying to get me to believe you just love the look of two plastic letters (SS emblems) and that's the reason you are putting them on there (as opposed to wanting people to think you have an SS) is the biggest bullshit I've ever heard
