Can't tell for sure... In my case, i bought the RK Sport SS hood.. Fitment is a little different..

Your's looks like a OEM SS hood.. Play with it a little.. See if you can move it around some.

Probably not much help.. looks good though.

I asume that your talking about the paint and not the fitment. The hood needs to be blended to the fenders and nose. It would probrably be best if you had the hood repsrayed with the bumper so they are not trying to blend 3 different shades. A good body guy will make it all look factory, won't be cheap though.

No don't believe it would be cheap. Also my bumper got smashed up so that will have to be painted anyways, and a new fender gotta go on too, so I figure they can do everything at once. Got any estimates on what it would all run????

Just to give you an idea of what you're in for, I had my hood, front bumper, ground effects, and spoiler painted... and then they had to blend my front fenders and my rear bumper to get it to match. Total cost was about 2200.

it almost looks as if the paint on bumper has more metallic flake than the hood which you can do nothing about unless you repaint the hood or blend the fenders, hood and bumper together

on a positive note, it really doesn't look all that noticable to me in the "far away" shots.

Well, if the fender has to be done too they will have to blend into the door. If you find a really killer body man he can match the paint almost perfect without a blend. I use a local guy that has done this for me acouple of times. You would kind of be taking a gamble though since it can be a hit or miss thing. I don't think any body man would gaurantee a perfect match without a blend.

I got my work done from a shop that restores corvettes and muscle cars. I got my hood, front bumper, both front fenders, and drivers side door repainted. total cost was 2,100. cant even tell what was repainted.

Not to hurt your feelings.... but it looked to me at first glance as if it was just being primed....

My Firehawk was White (in case you couldn't figure it out). The fascia, hood, headlamp covers, and fenders were all slightly different shades. I think they were all painted offsite and then assembled, unlike OEM builds that paint everything together.

Yeh well I will have to go back to the shop for a new estimate. I think I'm going to just have them repaint the hood, do the fenders and front bumper and blend everything. I gotta have them fix a fog light assembly too cause by the small accident. Anyways I would like to keep it around 2100 bucks.

maybe its just me, but it seems that on every factory camaro the hood always seems to be darker or deeper than the front bumper, i always figured it had something to do with the bumper being plastic and the hood being steel....

I have had a 99 black V6 and my current 02 SOM Z28 and on both cars the hood always appears darker than the bumper..... anyone else notice this ?

Flex agent in the uratane bumper can cause a color match problem some times. Depends a lot on what paint your purchase and of course the Painter's skills.

Well it could also be the difference in sunlight between the 2. I picked the hood up off a guy who had the car and the SS had 10k on it, and garaged much it's whole life. My car has 56k and garaged, but seen a lot of sunlight.
