Default Finally Finished SOM FRC'S - pics

It was a long time comming for these. I finally finished them. The Pics are not the greatest but I think they turned out great. I owe the design to parbreak and I will leave the painting of these to him. It was way too much work to finish these. I sure don't see doing another set any time soon.

You got that right! I know that you have done some before but if you are interested in a new way to fill the letters in, we used a plastic weld to fill the letters with plastic. It basically melts plastic into depressions. I guess body shops use it to repair bumbers.

Those look awesome! Did you sand the lid smooth or use filler to smooth it out?

Man that looks sick, I'd like to see those installed! Make sure you get a pic up when those pieces are put on.

Well I started with using body filler and that didn't work. It kept cracking so I talk to my neighbor who runs a body shop and he suggested trying this process where they melt plastic and fill the letters in that way. They use this to repair cracked bumpers. The we put on two coats of base SOM then did the stripes. He used a brush to do the thin stripes and the 5.7L, then applied the decals and then 3 coats of clear.

Yes he does, and his work gave me the idea for these. Even though he didn't do these I would recommend him for doing these to anyone else
