Default What a horrible day!!!!!

What a bad day this turned out to be. After waking up to a beautiful sunny day here in California, I ended up having a horrible day. Some frickin' hippy driving a 1978 Motor Home (BIG PILE OF CRAP) decided to take out the entire front left section of my car. I'll make the story short. We were at a red light that had 2 right hand turn lanes. I was near the curb and he was in the lane next to me. When the light turned green, he made a hard right turn into my lane and scraped half of his PIECE OF CRAP across the front driver side of my car. The pictures speak for themselves. He even had the ***** to get out and ask me why I HIT HIM?!?!?!?! Thank goodness I had 2 eye withnesses.

Did he think it was all "groovy" when your foot became an extra limb attached to his anus?

Thanks for the sympathetic replies guys. It helps to know that you guys feel my pain. One good thing that comes from this is that my front fascia had a few scratches that will now be taken care of with the replacement of the entire front piece.

I didn't even have my clear corner lights on for a week yet and now I have to order them again. Thank goodness the headlights I ordered haven't gotten here yet. Now I will get them for free basically. That OEM headlight should cost more than both aftermarket lights.

That is very strange, they do look identical. Must be a hippy thing. I'm really starting to dislike where I live. My wife was rear-ended not even a month ago. Gladly I was able to buff it out with no evidence remaining on the car. There will be no buffin this one out.

Someone had to.

At least you're ok. I don't really care if the hippy is ok, but at least you're ok. The car can be fixed. It sucks to see a well cared-for car look like that, but that's what insurance is for.

That's too bad man. I almost had the same thing happen to me during a two-lane left turn. I'm in the right hand part of the left turn and the ********** to my left basically goes diagonally across, not an arc. I hit my brakes but that's not all I wanted to hit ...

I can't stand idiots on the highway, it should be illegal. I wish I had the chance to dodge the guy. Sad thing is, I wasn't moving at all.

FYI, OEM Camaro headlights are over $300 each!

That damage wouldn't cost too much to repair if your hood didn't take any damage, but I notice that it is chipped/cracked on the edge - that will cost some major $$$.

Make sure that you get all OEM parts put back on. I clipped the wall at the strip a few years back, and took out a fender, headlight and front bumper cover - kind of like your damage actually. I replaced the front bumper cover and fender with aftermarket eBay junk because I didn't report it to insurance - since only my property was damaged I didn't have to . The aftermarket fitment is crap, and the fender bulges out at the door. I'm going to put OEM pieces back on eventually, but right now I'm just too lazy, lol.

Good luck with getting it straightened out.

The body shop has a lifetime guarantee on their work. I'm confident they will do the right thing when it comes to parts. I've already made it perfectly clear that I will go over it with a fine toothed comb. I doubt they want to do the work twice, and I will not hesitate to have them do the work again if it isn't to my satisfaction. Thanks for the info on the headlight.
