Question Painting Billet Grille?

I have a billet grille that I want to paint black. What type of paint is best for this job? Can I use the spray can paint? Thanks guys.

If you want it to last, your better off taking it to a powder coater. They shouldn't charge much for a piece that small.

Ive posted about not painting billet grilles in several threads in the past Ive done it and if you want to see how crappy it looks after a few months of driving check out this shameful picture of my car. It looks great for about a month. After that, forget it. Either buy a black one of have it powder coated, those are pretty much your only options.

How much should I pay for them to powder coat my LS1's billet grille? Thanks a lot guys. Thanks for the pic, Z28-CTYHNTR. Doesnt look that bad, though.

Trust me man it was bad, all those white specks you see on the grille are where the paint chipped off. There was a lot of bare metal peeking through the chipped up paint, more than enough to fail the 5 foot test. Then again Im a perfectionist, so it probably looked 10X worse to me than anybody else. lol

If you're going to paint it, make sure you use an etching primer first. The etching primer bonds to the metal and will allow the paint to adhere better.
