Hey guys, I am deployed in Afghanistan right now, I have a buddy taking care of my car for me. I bought a used RK sport SS hood and had him take it in for paint and install. He said that it won't fit with my lid on? I am just running a standard aftermarket lid, and the airbox has not been raised.

Anyone else have issues with their lids and a SS hood? How did you fix it?

By looking at the SLP lid that's on my car now, it looks like there was/is some rubbing from the hood, but I haven't had clearance issues that dramatic.

my SLP lid also rubs the stock hood, so I assume it will rub an SS one as well.

Yup, I have a RK Sport SS hood, and it rubs on my SLP lid rubs a little.

Here's what I did to save things from getting marked up:



As you can see in that picture there are other marks I need to address yet, the hood also rubs slightly on the front corners of the lower air box.

You should have steve post what its doing I think he said the hood wouldn't shut because it was resting on the lid or maybe he could post some pics of what its doing .

Stangkiller, you have a personalized plate on your car? Like 8 a stang or something? I messed around with a fast Black M6 on Jefferson a few months back with something like that...

Hookup with 11SECSS and head up to the EFA shootout on the 15th, it is a blast!

no that wasn't me, but i think i have seen that car around before. me and u have talked on here before, cause i am from gloucester, its so hard to get together though cause i go out to sea alot and i see you are deployed to afghanistan.

I thinking about ordering the RK Sport SS hood, good or bad idea? I would appreciate any input. Anybody got any idea how much lighter it is than the OEM Z28 hood? Is the scoop size and deminsions the same as a OEM SS hood? Thanks.
