To get the polished lip I would have had to un mount the tires, and machine down some rash, then polish the **** out of them, tape them off perfectly, paint the primer/black/clear. then clear over the whole rim again, too much work for stockers taht are gonna get replaced eventually.
Thanks for the comps. I also posted this in teh wheels forum sans engine bay picture, for answers to the stock wheel painting q's. I have progress pictures, if anyone wants em. I love how it makes my white calipers pop.

looks nice but yeah I never really liked black rims, polished lip or not. While driving it looks like a brake dust and dirt mess. But I've always liked the black/white theme on 4th gens.

I can see where you get this thinking from, it makes perfect sence. But also the car is white with a black top and bottom, I think the ant, door handles, and possible smoked corners brake up the white portion too much, where as clear corners would blend in..

j/k Car is looking good man. I see your point about the prep work to get the lip polished but something about the all black wheels that just seems "off" to me. I agree with the VHT. Your going for a B/W theme and need to carry that through IMHO.
