Default My New HIDs!!! pics!

well i've always had the blue halogen headlights on my car...and honestly they are worse then stock yellow halogen bulbs...but they look kinda cool and make the housing reflect blue, so i've always had 'em (you can see in my sig pic their all blue!) anyways...driving in the rain is hard as hell because my windshield is tinted too....

my buddy that i work with just ordered us both 8000K HID kits for out lowbeams. he's got a new TrailBlazer SS. i love how they look. took about 10 minutes to throw in too!

anyways here's some pics of how they came out! i love them!!

and my buddy's new TrailBlazer SS with the HID's...not a great picture because it's still daytime obviously

I would do something about that glare. It looks cool and all but your prob gonna get flashed by oncoming cars.

thanks! yeah it's mostly a blueish purpley color....the pink is probably just from my car's reflection...yeah the glare is kinda bad. im gonna have to look into doing something about that. but for the mean time, i'll just aim the headlights down some....

HID's in regular light housing is just dumb. Major glare, and not safe for on-coming traffic. Do it right, or don't do it at all.

Unfortunately, this man is correct.

There's a reason that HID headlights have to be legal. Simply putting HID bulbs in a normal housing isn't the same as true HID setup lights because they throw too much light outside the desired spectrum area, which is dangerous for oncoming traffic. They found that too many people were being blinded by the glaring bright lights of the HID bulbs that people just tossed in their stock headlights.

Looks good, but sorry, it really isn't safe for anyone else on the road at night.

I have to agree, if i saw you coming in oncoming traffic i'd definately blink my brights, cause those things look blinding.

You should invest in a true HID setup. I can tell from your 2nd set of pics alone that you'll be blinding cars and people left and right. An upgrade to HIDs, IMO, should be more of function than of aesthetics. HIDs are great for the driver, but unless patterned properly, dangerous to everyone else.

Looks good though.

well for all the people saying im a dick for this...point me in the right direction for a nice housing, and not those ones that look like bubbley pieces of Euro junk....
i like how they look as well as how they light the road ahead....and until you see me comin down the road, don't judge it by my POS camera....

im sure SLPLS1 will see 'em at woodward sooner or later

It was just a matter of time before the glare police came out of hibernation.

lol yeah....you can't do anything different on this site or else you get ripped a new one usually i noticed.

my friend Brian took a few pics last night out at woodward...it doesn't glare annoying like everyone says they do.

i would really like to know where to look into some HID housings though. anyone want to tell me?? and also, the whole "it's illegal as hell bla bla bla

there's not very many things legal about my car in the first place anyways so some shiney lights are the least of my worries
