Default 1 down, 1 to go...new racing seat is in! *new pics added*

stock vs. new seat

I'll have more pics when both of them are in...so far, the first one went on stock brackets with some modification. As you can see, these are taller than our stock seats, so the only problem is that when you tilt it to let someone get in the back, it touches the t-top roof. (but I expected minor things from $300 with shipping for both). Another thing, the seatbelt gets too close to your neck. Other than than that, see my other thread for a full summary. When I'm finished, I'll let you guys know how it all went.

here is a link to the actual seats...

Good looking seat.
What are your plans for the back seats?

thanks for the feedback so far...for the back seats...I might order black covers for them from katzkin interiors out in Cali. Its not so bad considering there is a black/camel theme in the interior. At first, I did not like the interior, but I do get a lot of compliments on it, and people that don't know these cars too well think its custom.

That's good that you fabbed up the stock bracket to fit, most aftermarket seats it's impossible to do that.
I was worried that the seatbelt would be a problem but I'm sure someone will come up with a fix for it.

Nice work, they look great.

they probably weigh half the weight of the stock seats, and they are pretty comfortable, but maybe too tight by your arms.

well then in that case, I am going to have to use the stock seat belt holder and put it on where the seat begins to turn because I would never forgive myself if someone was hurt.

Not a bad idea and shouldn't look too bad, so long as you use black ones.
That's my main concern with aftermarket seats is the damn seatbelt.

I just went out and put it up to the seat. It actually looks fine. This is a MUST...I do not want passengers nor myself to be uncomfortable and in harms way.

Kandy..thoes look look great...DAMM! I shudda bought thoes...

Confortable...hows the height?

1. Unscrew the belt holder at the base (you'll need a #6 "star" driver) and pass it through the seat back holes...works great..and get the belt away from your neck...

I just popped my stock seats back in so I could take the aftermarket seats to the upholstery shop....GAWD the stock seats suck! After only a week in my new seats Im spoiled...

Have you seen my post on how to mount up the stock electric seat? its out there

do you have a link to how you mounted them to the stock electric seats? Oh, and as for the height, they pretty much suck (that is the only real issue I have with them). They touch the t-top roof when you move it forward to let someone in the back, but other than that, the height is ok.
