I have 8000k on my car and LOVE THEM. Color is great and light output is incredible when compared to my stock halogens. They put out like 3x the lumens of a halogen bulb. Believe me, you notice the difference. I will try to dig up a pic to put here....

i need to get a SBC kit from eurolights.com, you gave me their addy in a pm. They will send me 2 lenses to replace my stock lenses. They will also give me a wiring kit to plug into my stock wiring harness so that i can convert to an H7 buld. Right so far? Now where do i get the H7 bulb? And where ever i get them from, the temp ranged from like 4300K, 6000K, 8000K to 10000K right?

Now what about heat, will that come into a factor at all? will it melt anything?

What is the difference between 6000K and 8000K i want a nice crisp white light with some blue to it.

Do i want LEDs or HIDs for lights?

What aobut the fogs, how do i achieve that same look?????? will the 8000K match my silverstars that i have in my fogs right now??

anymore help would be great
www.ledgauges.com is a sponsor and has sealed beam conversion housings and HID kits that fit in them.

Well you just about got it, lol. You do need to get the SBC but those are only the lenses, not the wires. When you get your HID kit, it comes with the bulbs, ballests and all the wires to need to do the install. Heat is not gonna be a factor, HID's actually run cooler that normal halogen bulbs, so no worries about melting, just don't leave them on with the car not running, they will drain your battery in a hurry, they suck a lot of juice. Dont ask me who I found that out, lol. If you are wanting a white light you are prolly gonna want a 6000K, 8000K has a white tint, but it is more blue I would say.You want HID's for your fogs, not LED's and no your silverstars will not match you 8000K lights, thats what are in my fogs and they look like regualr halogens now. There is a thread about the HID for lights in here, I remember reading it. In all honestly I would not put HID's in your fog lights, your headlight are gonna be pretty damn bright to begin with, if you have them both on at the same time you will blind a lot of folks. BTW, I sent you a PM with a link to some pictures that might make this a little easier to understand.--Tony

4100K is the whitest and brightest. As the color temperature increases, the color gets blue-er then purple-er. Also, the lumens output decreases as the color temp increases. 4100K has a higher lumens output than 8000K. Therefore 4100K is birghter than 8000K.

Oh, it is a sweet pic though, I thought for a second that you had some blue LED's filling up one of your lights

I just thought I'd point out an obvious flaw in this poll. The actaul color is not completely dependant on the temperature of the bulb. Different bulb manufacturers use different gasses and materials.

For instance, the 4300K Philips bulb is more blue/white while the same temp bulb from Osram is more yellowish/white. So not all 8000K, etc... bulbs are going to have the same amount of color to them. Just keep that in mind.

Well if you want to be technical...
The housing can also affect the actual color output.
