the outside of the car looks great but that intake looks like **** and you could have saved money my bet is to take the car to a show open the hood and put a comment box ontop of the radiator support and see how many people say the intake is shitty overtop of the other apperance of the car.Like i said the car is awesome i think the intake takes 98% of a winning vote away at a show.

Default small progress

The speaker boxes in the back where the rear seat used to be.

It's not anywhere close to being done, I have to build a console between the 2 boxes and a backing plate for the rear to put the amps......just some progress.

I dunno guys the guy seems like he knows what the Hell he is doing...... and the comparison between the two cai's on this thread if you look closely they are similar. Both could possibly suck up a puddle. Both are tubing. both are home made. ONE goes through the core support...

I don't really see a problem going through the core support as long it is reinforced.

Love the hood and paint.

Don't listen to the naysayers.

I have the EXACT same car out of Colorado.

I live in Ga. What part of S.C. do you live in?

My trooper car that came out of Colorado was probably the cleanest in/out of any CAR with 90k that I have ever seen besides the holes on the dash and remaining glue from decals on the outside. (it still smelt new and it was obvious the trooper didn't smoke.)

Most state's trooper policies require the trooper that drives a camaro to have been in the force for 15 years. I know South Carolina was this way. So you know the young guns are probably beatin up the crown vics.

I would have been much harder on it.

lastly, they change fluids very often and are meticulous. If the service engine soon light came on you can bet it was serviced. My father in law was a Ga State Patrol and they are soo nit picky with their cars most posts have more than one spare car so they have something to drive while their regular cars are being serviced. I used to get their old tires that had punctures. They would replace a tire that had to be plugged. Even if it was new.

I have to say you are better at paint work than engine work. I have spent the last 20 minutes reading this thread. I laughed so hard when I saw the CAI my wife came in the room and looked at it and said WTF?

Car looks good, I really like the hood. For the people who compliment you on the car do yourself a favor and don't open the hood.

I know you said the CAI was free, so are crabs...still doesn't make it a good idea..

Good looking car.

I went over the whole thread! I guess I was bored.... but thanks man!!!!! You made my day!!!! I must say props to you for all the work you've done to the car, keep it up, no matter what we think of it, its YOUR car and thats what matters only. Might not be the prettiest intake, but you can't beat free! Plus, if it performs.... good! Back when I had my LT1 trans am I had a custom CAI that used to sit way too low, I daily drove my car thru all weather coditions, heard stories about getting water in the CAI and the opti...... I guess I was lucky also, it never happened to me..... Good luck with your project, and the best part of..... keep on having fun with it!!!!

Not bad, why not just get a damn lid. It's like 100 bucks. And please take off the 01-04 mustang GT rims. Flowmaster mufflers suck. Paint looks good. Needs a drop, and that wing looks out of place.

Do you tell everyone that has a 9" to get rid of the ford product too? They look like torque thrusts. Who cares if they are off a stang? Unless he stops and someone who knows better looks it would take a minute to notice.

Guess I'm partial and always thought those stang wheels were pretty cool.

Default I Love My Car!!!

And I'm glad some of you thing the same thing.

As far as my rims, you keep polishing you torque thrust 2's, and i'll keep spraying my grease lighting and wiping off my CHROME wheels. A little wax, and they stay clean and shiny, damn polishing aluminum.

Oh yeah, the transmission is still shifting, motor hasn't hydrolocked , and I drive this car EVERYDAY!

The car is tuned, and I haven't had a chance to get it to the dragstrip, I've been working on my truck LS engine swap and on my 1957 bel-air project, so the camaro got put on the back burner so to speak....but I still love my orange baby.

A wash and a coat of wax, and I can't put gas in her without someone complementing me on how good my car looks. One stoplight rev with a smile, and she'll peel out and we're gone!

LICKEYMAN......I'm in a little town called North about 20 miles south of columbia in south carolina. And for the comment that you made about you being harder on your car than the state troopers were, I know for a fact I bought a good high milage car, if it wasn't, I've rebuilt her by now. There's no way they drove her as hard as I do.....but she does get plenty of love too.

Thanks for the interest, negative or positive!

Damn... most of these guys wouldn't of given this car a second look or a single chance to become what it is now. That's one f-body saved Of course I laughed at your little performance upgrades... but who didn't? Yea I doubted you at first but never bashed. I like when people try new things. Very nice job man! I bet it feels good looking at her now. Props

The CAI would be better if it were a little cleaner, take the lid itself off and get the cover from an LT1 to put under it, hell i think i still have mine somewhere you pay for shipping and ill send it to you for free.
