Are the silverstar foglights for camaro 880st or 893st??
I did a search about it, but i found different stuff. Some ppl say that the silverstar fogs are 880st, and others say it is 893st? I have a 2000 Camaro Z28. I hope someone can help me out with this.

Here is Sylvania's Lamp Replacement Guide:
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/
Accoding to them, the stock bulb is 894 (35watt, angled connector).
893 is the straight connector version. It will physically fit in place of the 894 and the stock wiring harness will plug into it. The only concern is that the 893's connector is straight while the 894's connector is angled. This may pose a length or packaging issue, but many on here have used it without problems.

880ST will alto physically fit, but it has a straight connector instead of an angled connector though. The 880ST is also 27watts versus the 893/894 which is 35watt.

Here are the pros and cons of Silvania SilverStar bulbs
PROS:
* Whiter light
CONS:
* Overpriced
* Short Life
* Dimmer light because its coated to make the light look whiter
(check out the lumens listed on their website for confirmation)
With those cons, I wouldnt reccomend Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. GE NightHawk bulbs are better (brighter and no coating) but I don't think they make them in 893/894.
Sylvania may make 893/894 in the XtraVision line which is actaully brighter than Sylvania SilverStar. The light is the standard halogen color though if that makes any difference to you.

I have had my Silverstars 2 1/2 years almost 3. Have not had the short life problem here. I know alot of people who have had them as long.

I just put in the 893ST. I hear some people using 50 watt ones, but I dont' want to melt the wirring or the plastic fogs. So I think the 893ST is same bet. The ST supposed to be more light.
They don't make a SU fog light buld do they? I really like my SU 9006 and 9005.
thanks

i have bought so many of these damn expensive foglights and then i took off my blackouts..only to find that the tip of the lights melted my fog lenses..all that wasted money on silverstars, then some more wasted money on new fog lights and a wasted couple hours for install...stick with the reg ones
