Talking LED Brake-Lights...complete with pics & vid

Well I finally finished everything up. I replace all of the exterior lamps with LEDs except for the fog lamps and headlamps (HID). I had the front corner lights finished a little while ago but went ahead and did the tail lamps including the brake lights, 3rd brake light lamps, rear corner lamps and license plate lamps.

The interior is also totally outfitted with LEDs except for the original factory guages. Map lights, door lights, back seat, ash tray and autometer guages all have LEDs as well. Below are pics and also a quick vid I threw together to show how well these LEDs work in the tail lamps. The only one I'm not thrilled with is the license plate light but I can fix that another day. Enjoy.

And for a little comparison, here are the original lamps at night.

I'm loving the quick on/off operation.

I replaced the turn signal and hazard thermal flasher with electronic flasher units.

I don't exactly see a major difference either. The only thing I do see is that the reverse lights are bright as hell. Other than that, based on the pics, the taillights look really no different to me.

pictures were taken at two different times. The brake lights are now a bit brighter than they were and their operation is much quicker. I was planning on doing a simple comparison from tail lamp to tail lamp but I had some install issues and I didn't feeling like tearing everything all up again to put the original lamps in. Maybe if I'm bored I will do that tonight or tomm. The vid works now so you can see the operation.

I´ve installed those over two years ago and they still work...

It is only one thing i dont like the difference between brake and when the light are on could have been better you notice this when you use them in the daytime.

Every bulb on my car except high, low, fog are LEDs.

Very nice to hear yours are still operating as they should. These were a new design supposedly with higher powered LEDs and as the results show..work very well even in the daytime.

What LED bulbs did you use? Were they 2057's? (for the brake lights) Where did you get them? For the electronic flasher, which one did you use?

My tail lamps use 3057 lamps for the brake lights. I purchased these from a non-sponsor so PM me if you want the details. The electronic flasher I purchased was the EL12. I needed two, one for the turn signal and one for the hazards to replace the existing thermal flashers.

Nice work!
However I prefer the look of the regular stock light bulbs in our Fbodies. Mainly because of how the light bulb lights up, taking a second to reach full brightness. I think it just looks more classic this way, other then the "instant" flash from LED's.

The first shots are actually pretty close to direct sunlight. The sun was shining right into the garage but once I see a nice day (it just snowed) I will snap some pics. For the money I spent on these, I wouldn't be keeping them if they weren't up to my standards....especially in the brake light area. I do not need anyone rear ending me because they could not see me braking.
