I asked our GP part guy @ ClubGP about this. He concern will be the diameter of the shaft. If that don't fit, it won't work.

For what it's worth the Pontiac G6 has the same wheel as the C6 Corvette. Same radio buttons, everything. Even comes with a nice Pontiac arrow head logo center cap.

I dunno anything pass 04+ model year will fit with the wiring harness. For example, GP change style at 04 and they've new radio buttom configuration. So my guess is, the wheel itself my fit in no problem. But the airbag and radio buttom is a concern.

Well, I can almost 90% sure with G6 steering wheel, the radio buttom won't work.

Take a look at this, find in "the bay".

Look at the pic of the back side and see those connectors.

I've heard that you can just pop the pins out of the yellow connector and swap em... Not sure if the voltages are different though. I hope they're not... :x

It is just an airbag system. The airbag doesn't care. It puts out about 30 volts.

Swap the connectors and go.

The airbag modules from a 2004 cavalier and a 1999 camaro are almost the same.

Yeah it just an airbag system as long as the connector plug-in, it should work. What concern is the shaft diameter, and the radio control. For example, 97-00 and 01-03 Gradn Prix had different shaft OD, according to a PRO Grand Prix part guy.

I measured 14mm thread shaft diameter from my 99. I'll try to swap my 98 Montana wheel to my Firebird and see what happen.

i dont care much about steering wheel controls. i was going to find a wheel without it, but i want something less bulky and maybe a bit thicker grip, but keep the airbag.

Have you ever driven a car with a 13-13.5" steering wheel, it is night and day. It helps steering feel in my opinion, and the nice fat rim feels quality. When I get in my SS after the Z it feels like I am holding onto the wheel from a schoolbus. Stock is too large, too ugly and cheap feeling.

I am going to grab one of the C6 wheels soon and try the swap, I want to keep the airbag in the SS.

the main problem is that on the 98 the wire from the colum plugs into the bag itself and on the 02 there is a harness from the bag that connects to the harness on the column
