Default Quick Pictures: The Updated Look

After work I snapped a few pictures real quick just to show the new look (tint, clear front side markers, shaved nose bird and side moldings, slightly lowered rear, smoked rear lighting, 18" polished Z06s).

The exhaust I put on last week and thats as in as the tips were getting with the Hooker catback out of the box so in the next few days I plan on busting out the saw and tucking the tips under and straightening them up so excuse that for the time being.

What it looked like when I bought it...

And what it looks like now...

The tails aren't as dark as they look in the pictures. You can actually still see the grid in daylight and at night you cant they're smoked. A semi gloss black CETA style rear bumper should tie the whole theme together.

Now to decide what finish to go with on the wheels. For the time being I think I'm going to get some Duplicolor wheel paint and spray them silver metallic myself. It'll match the "Ram Air" and "Trans Am" decals' centers. Part of me wants to mask them off, leave the lip polished, and paint the centers black like this Vette (http://www.lxcoupe.com/images/whitez06_2.jpg). So we'll see which temp solution I come up with as the polished finish isn't goig to work for daily driving. I'm going to do some research into chrome powdercoating for the long term and when I put the stock wheels on the GTO for the winter I may DD it for a week or two and have these wheels powdered then. I think white and chrome go together like peanut butter and jelly plus powdercoating a chrome finish is far more durable and doesn't add as much weight as plating. The car is "almost there" though.

EDIT: CETA rear bumper snap shots and I worked on the tips today a little and got them lined up a bit better but still have a little ways to go on them yet...

beautiful car...i saw the before pics and thought "what could do to make it look any better?" haha. but you are getting it dead on. cleaning up the tips and painting those wheels will definitely finish it off. i like the idea of matching teh the wheels to the center of those decals. looks great!

For the rims I would polish the living crap out of them and then use a transparent charcoal or black paint on the spokes (leave the lips polished) and then clear the whole thing...

This will make the spokes look like black/charcoal chrome

I posted up two pictures of the tint and clear side markers but haven't had any pictures up of the shaved nose bird and side moldings, the smoked rear lights, the slightly lowered rear, or the polished 18" Z06s. All subtle but its alot of changes that I felt really enhanced the car and warranted some new pictures.

I agree with the chrome/polish and white. Looks really good together. Just get those professionally polished and then professionally cleared. That way you don't have to worry about keeping up with them as much.

Car looks great...wish I could be 'nearly done' as quick as you have. How long have you had that thing like 2 weeks? haha

It's like the side moldings. It's stuck on with some adhesive.

Yep, came right off with a little elbow grease.

The rear bumper is sitting outside on my patio right now. I masked it off and painted it CETA style in gloss black. Should be good to go back on the car in a few more hours and I'll probably update with pictures of that tomorrow. Hopefully get the tips tucked in too but dont know if I'll have time.

A GTO for fun and a Trans Am for work. I am very jealous.

Both cars look great BTW.
