Default Tail Lights, home mod

I just got some euro style tail lights, but before you go off on how ricy they look, hear me out. I have a black Camaro, and am going to get some high temp black paint, to paint the shinny silver part black. I have seen this done on head lights and it came out very nice. After thinking about it with an open mind, I'd love to see your opinions. thanks

I did that to my G3 taillights.

They came out looking killer! Which style taillights did you get?

It would be cool to see pics of your G3 taillights. I'm not sure the real name for the except Euro-Altezaa but here is a site with them unpainted, http://nextcollection.com/html/ORD-Auto~Styling-Clear,Euro~clear,Altezza~tail~light-no-14409-none.cfm thanks for the confidence

I think your idea would look great. I have been wanting to get those taillights and work with them also.

However, the Vette lights on that Camaro look really out of place IMO. But that is an awesome job the body man did.

Here is a pic of my old taillights in my photo album:

And here is the eBay listing with more pictures:

The body man that did that rear panel is Whistler.
Seems like everything he touches turns to gold.
He is selling the rear panels. Around $150 I think... You supply the Vette lights.
IMO they look awesome on there.
Much better than rice lights.

Some more...
The 2nd pic hints at his targa top mod.
Too bad I don't have any pics of his custom nose and homemade CF cowl hood... Whistler

Don't understand how adding lights not made for our car (altezzas) can be called rice - yet adding lights that weren't made for our cars (corvettes) is awesome?

Interesting dichotomy.

Does Whistler make that panel in Carbon Fiber? How can I get in touch with him?

RATIO411 that looks pretty sweet, I agree you should paint the back pannel silver as well. That spoiler is pretty nice and so are those wheels, almost look like 20's
but where are the exhust tips

BigBlackZ28 your car give me the idea when I saw it on here about 2 months ago, this is a link to the lights I got, and will paint the shinny silver part black

I agree with you 100%, Cole! Sure, it's unique, but imo it looks gayer than Altezzas.

they are 20's, and no need for exhaust tips when you have turndowns on your true-duals

Does anyone know how to open up the tail lights on the 97-02 and be able to seal them back up?

Actually he has True dual over the axle 3 inch carbon fiber exhaust pipes. Real carbon fiber, over the axle on opposite sides. Weighs like 2-3 pounds.

Is Whistler the one who had custom all red camaro tail lights before these new corvette style ones?
