sunoco or ss hood?????/
#6
go old school...no hood at all!
the SS hood, while its nice, has been beaten to death. Hell, my neighbor has an SS style hood on his freakin S-10. The Sunoco has gotten more abundant lately, but you still don't see it every day (unless its on your car!!!)

just an fyi, most old 67-69 "ss" camaros you see are clones, so why doesn't anybody ever give them a hard time?
I think the ss hood will look great on your car!

Furthermore, why would you clone an SS? I admit that when I first got my camaro I went through a period of "badge envy", but not so much anymore. Both the Z28 and SS have a long and proud history, one was a quarter mile racer and the other a trans am championship car. They are both great cars.
I just dont see the point in putting SS badging on a Z, why waste the money? Should you be so ruled by others opinions that you would try to make your car something it isnt, because in the end you will always know its a Z28, but Who cares! Like someone here said "There are lots of SS's, but only one Z28". Love your car for what it is.

Well, I hate to disagree with one of our moderators...but I really feel I must. The only things that are different between a Z and an SS are the hood, spoiler, wheels and of course the price. If there are differences mechanically speaking then they are very minor, and not really worth notice, that is in my opinion.

To each his own. But I really dig the Sunoco hood, and like I said its one less thing to buy is a wing to match the SS hood.
Peace,
Craig.

Na, disagree all you want to boss. But restoman45 had a good point when he said for the most part hood, wing, and wheels is right appearance wise. There is also power steering cooler, end links, exhaust, sway bars, then a crap-ton of possible SLP options on top of that. And if one were to buy the hood+wing, and then paint them...he should have bought the SS then.

The SS hood and Sunoco hood are mutually good looking on Camaros, but as we all know the SS is more popular because it came on a lot of Camaros stock! If you want to stand out from the crowd and are not too worried about perfect OEM fit, then go with the Sunoco hood. If you want a perfect fit and do not want to stand out as much then go with the SS hood.....all personal preference

thats why I said for the most part...
i know about all the options like the good dual-dual exhaust, bilstein package, chrome rims, auburn differential, car cover (lol), floor mats (lol), key fobs (lol), grille, etc as well as a few other standard equipment items...
*sorry, just saw your reply that I was right for the most part appearence wise...back on topic though, dont mean to steal this thread!
I think the SS hood is one of the nicest looking hoods of all time...get it!
