That is the biggest waist of money for a air intake on a ls1! Its good for dynoing with the hood open but thats it. A lid and K&N best way to go with free ram air mod. This fipk is a hot air intake. It sucks! I gets all the hot air from your motor! I have proved this to many people and they changed it out. If you hook hp tuners or efi and any other tunning software you can see your air intake temp will real well over 100 degs. i have seen 170 deg going down the hwy. With the lid it was reading 70 deg the temp it was out side the car They also picked up a tenth and 2mph. Just had to get that out. If you have a SS or WS6 hood to get some cooler air under the hood its better but still not as good as a lid setup.

I just got my Fipk plate powdercoated chrome (pics soon) and I only bought one because I was planning on getting a ram air hood and I bought it for 150 shipped in exchange for a stock airbox because the guy was selling the car. For the record it made a difference and I think it looks better than the bulky stock airbox aftermarket lid or not.

Not a waist. Back in the day I did IAT testing on it with a laptop and the air tems didn't go up much with the car moving. At least with an SS hood.
