Default led hot spots & other questions post up pics

Hot spots??? What causes them, and how do I prevent them??
Will red leds cause them?

I'm tossed up with either red or white leds.... how much brighter will the white ones be from stock lights? same question for red

Pics would be great!

Cause: Too much light directed on one spot.
Prevention: Buy the Wedge Base LED Bulbs (5 leds in one bulb all pointed in different directions evenly).

Im not sure about red LED's, White looks the best for Camaro guages IMO. Ive seen some pics of red clusters and you have a hard time seeing some parts. Red is for Trans Am's clusters.

The gauges in Camaros have a blue film on them. White LEDs will make the gauges a blueish color.

You need to sand down the tops of the leds flat or grind them down. That should defuse the light and not give you hot spots.

I have white LEDs in my camaro and have the bluish look to them as posted above. Hot spots are also created when the LED is installed in the wrong direction.

Cause the bulbs are yellowish and also the cool white bulbs I use have a slight blue look to them.

The only thing that needs to be soldered is the headlight switch.

Yah thats what I intended to say. The only thing that needed to be soldered was the headlight switch, ASR, and Foglight switches.

The guage cluster requires no soldering. Plug-N-Play.
