Default Camaro Roof Bubbles, Anyone had luck with dealer?

It got HOT here and now (unfortunately) I am one of the later model Camaro owners with the "Roof Bubble Problem"

I was hoping that some of you guys could share some of your experiences with this problem. The better informed that I am when I go back to the dealer to get the roof replaced, The better off I will be!

I know that there was a TSB issued on this 'problem' allready, I was mostly looking for tips on things to watch out for at the dealer or advice on other methods of repair... Thanks Guys, Since SLP closed their forum, I have really got a good look around here... You guys ROCK!

And a really Big-Thumbs-Up to Nineball...
I never cease to be amazed by Nineballs' "Vast Knowledge of All Things LS-1"
I found this place from reading Nineball posts on SLP...
Damn good thing, If you ask me...

As long as it's still under warranty, it shouldn't be a problem. Make sure they replace the roof skin, as sanding and repainting won't cut it.

I would ask PendragonZ about it. I saw a post of his and he was having the same problem. It seemed like he was rolling up the sleeves and getting set to face the dealership head on. They were being stubborn about it, but I am not sure of the conclusion.

Thanks for the input guys,
I get spooked whenever I have to go back to the dealer.
I am more worried about them screwing something else up than I an about them fixing the roof...

I can't wait till they try to tell me that it is not a 'common' problem and that warranty won't cover it...

That is when I will pull out the TSB on this matter and ask them if they have seen this yet...

All Roof Bubbles aside, I love this car! I just wish GM had a little bit better customer service...

Apparently the regional director has declined to fix my roof, as it
is out of the original 3 year warranty - even though the TSB was
put out after the 3 year ended on my car. Granted, I know TSB's
are not like a recall, where they must fix it and pay for it themselves,
but this is the reason I bought the extended warranty. I was told
my only option now is to fight with GMPP, to see if they will cover this
under the extended warranty. I'll be doing this soon, but I've been
slammed at work lately and haven't had a chance to breathe let
alone fight these guys.

My 2000 SS also has this problem. I have over 49K on the car and took it in to the dealer spoke with the general manager for a little bit. The next day he spoke with the regional director and got the car approved for me even though it is far out of my warranty and I dont even have an extended one. They said that looked at my past history and with the dealship and saw that for every single little thing I always brought it in for them to fix and since I have always been loyal to them, they were being loyal to me now so they said. I am car-less for a few days but couldnt be happier about the situation

I'm happy you're dealing with good people. I wish I didn't have to
jump through hoops for this.
