Default Moving The Front Seat Back

Here's the deal. I've wanted an F-Body for a while now but I've been unsure if I would be able to fit in it. I'm 6'6". I've had spinal fusion surgery because of scoliosis so from my waist up is short for my height and from my waist down is long for my height. Well today was the first time I've ever sat in a F-Body. It's basically perfect except for the leg room, I need a little bit more. So here is my question: Has anybody moved there front seat(s) back?

Please post some pics if you got them!

Default Seat Adjustment

Hey Bro.....I just had a spinal fusion myself and I am 6.3.I have a 99 30th Trans Am and I can drive fine..I put my seat back back and although I wish I could see over the nose a little better,,,I have been driving f-bodys since I was a kid and am pretty much used to it...The only way you will ever know is to sit in one and check it out for yourself....I had my fusion 6 weeks ago and I can drive just fine.....Good Luck on your recovery

How much of your spine did you have fused? I had from my shoulder blades to my waist done back in 2000. My back was a 48 degree corkscrew. I remember them telling me if I didn't have it fixed I would be paralized by my high school graduation.

LOL! When your my heigh you can't use a back seat! I'm thinking about doing a rear seat delete and building a custom box for a couple of JL Audio W3v3s (if I can make it look good).

wow, sorry see what youve gone through.

im 6'4" and i dont have a problem, all the way back works for me, but I used to know a guy who was 6'8" and he had a 3rd gen (back when they were new) and he had the seat rails extended or moved back. sorry no pics, but i know it can be done. find a good shop ho cna weld and ill bet they can move the rails back a couple of inches.

while youre at it, have the hump in the passenger side floor removed.

Her's some info I found: What I did was go to Menards or Home Depot baught 1/8 plate steel pieces that are 3 - 3 1/2 inches wide 24" long and took a piece of card board and tried to make a template for the hole placement, drilled the holes , than measured back 4" for me, and drilled more holes. I made the nessary bends. I put 3/8 bolts through the back holes and bolted the plate down in the original spots on the front holes with the original nuts and replaced the seats on the back holes and put lock nuts and washers. It was easy.

That sounds like the plan!

I have MRC seats with Arizen brackets. They go so far back they almost hit the back seat...

SO, any Arizen, Mad Racing Concept, Recaro or similar knock off seat on Arizen or Recaro mounting brackets should do the trick
