Default Easiest way to remove carpeting?

Last night I found the passenger side carpet wet...pretty much soaked from water.

Had some heavy rain...and this is the first time I got water inside. Had this car a year and this is the first time it's happened.

I want to get underneath and yank out the carpet in that area to make sure it's dry.

I am just hoping the T-top was positioned right from the last time it was off or the window was all the way up to make a good seal.

I cannot endure the lemon law again....this will be 2 lemon in the last 22 months and my 2nd Trans Am!! (other car had a detonating motor)This Trans Am has been fine since. If I have to go lemon law on this one I will, but my replacement this time will be an SS w/ no t-tops!!

Any suggestions before I let the dealer hack my car up?

Guess it's just me, someone does not want me to own a Trans Am

Claire, Just remove the trim panels and you should be able to lift up the carpet and look up under it. Good luck hope all is ok.

Thanks Wayne

Really just hoping the top was not positioned just right on that side.

You betcha girlie! Try wiping down all the rubber at the t-tops and widows. May have some junk on there. Like Florida sand. Seriously, hope Earl is ok.

Yeah Wayne right now that is the least of my concerns, my Mother called me this morning w/ bad news on my Dad's latest CAT scan....he has been battling a rare type cancer and I just left my dog off at the hospital w/ failing Kidneys. Life for me today is at an all time low. Won't know anything about my dog til Monday, he is going to be IV'd for the weekend and blood tested again on Monday to see if the kidney's are functioning better.

He's only gonna be 8....I cannot live without my dog so I guess now I will call My Breeder in CT to see if she has any pups and to call me when she has some pups again.

I hate to talk that way of my dog now...but I cannot be without one....

The carpet is kinda hard to remove, because after you get the seats out and the console and the side panels and all of that, you still have to unbolt the seatbelts, and those suckers are tourqued down pretty good - I left the carpet in when I installed my stereo.

Don't assume that the T-Tops are the problem, could just be other weatherstripping around the door. I say this because Banddirectorblk98Z had the same problem(lots of water in the car), and he does not have t-tops.
Do a search on LS1.com whenever it comes back up and see what he did to resolve the problem.

Thanks TTopJohn, gonna let it dry out for now and see what happens in the next heavy rain...problem is we are getting out of the rainy season here in FL....but I will check all the weather stripping and probably get it into the dealer so they can check it.

A friend of mine is the trim guy, so they will be good w/ the car.

Be sure to NOT wipe down your weatherstripping with Armor All when you're cleaning your car. This will cause leaks.
