Oil based paint overspray
As the images show, I recently recieved some free overspray I learned it was a oilbased paint that was used... Anyone have any ideas on what can take this off w/o removing the clear coat at the same time lol. I tried some rubbing compounds with no luck so far.

Lacquer thinner WILL hurt your finish, from clearcoat to paint....dont. Maybe spraying some WD-40 will help. Machine buffing with rubber compaound by an experienced user is another alternative

use a claybar autozone has it...that happened to me once, if you have a rotary machine that would be what i would try next...., do not use thinner or any lighter fluid dude remember your car is painted as well......

So I havent had a chance to try the clay bar but from what I have read this seems to be the best way to get my overspray to go bye bye. Anyone have any 1st hand exp. getting oil based overspray off a car?

alright no pictures yet cause im not done lol. But the clay bar worked. I had to use an aggressive clay bar to do it though and a whole lot of time. Needless to say im going to have to do the car in sections over a small period of time lol. But man you can honestly tell a difference... im sure doing it on a car w/o overspray you could tell a difference.

body shops have been using clay bars for awhile to deal with minor overspray. my uncles powerstroke diesel got a free respray in an oil based paint in a similar style, clay bar took it right off with no issue. hopefully no long term damage otherwise id send the idiot who did it the bill

Well I got to it last night and got the whole car done I wanted to get the wax on this morning. The good ( maybe ) thing is the over spray was white. My car is white, and you cant see the overspray on the body. But you can feel it with the clay bar. So i went to down on the whole car and got it to where I couldnt feel any roughness along the sides and everything.
Now I didnt not try WD40, it was my backup to the clay bar.
